Each year, nearly half the people living with diabetes miss their diabetes eye tests, putting them at heightened risk of losing their vision.

That's why we're laser focused on meeting patients where they are, in some of their most trusted healthcare interactions.

We're thrilled to expand our partnership with AdventHealth, one of Florida's largest hospital systems and primary care networks, helping them close this critical care gap.

Recently, members of the AdventHealth West Florida team stopped by Network Eye to learn more about how simple our AI-enabled eye test is for their patients. And on March 19, we held a mobile testing event at AdventHealth's Pasco Pavilion.

We're so excited to partner with Advent, helping more patients get the care they need in a way that is deeply integrated with their trusted primary care providers.

What is AMD?

We talk a lot about Age-Related Macular Degeneration, but there are a few key things to know about the condition. First and foremost: AMD is treatable! It's a condition that can affect your central vision, making it difficult to see faces, read, or drive. AMD affects the back of your eye, an area called the retina. Annual eye exams are the best way to detect AMD.

If you have , an important part of having the right care is having the right healthcare team!

Your team may include a retina specialist, primary care provider, endocrinolgist, nutritionist, personal trainer, podiatrist, and more.

Some specialists you'll see more frequently than others. While it might feel like a lot to juggle, being able to count on a great team will help you feel more in control of your health. Game on!

High blood sugar levels can have an impact on eye health, especially if you have . But the temptation of Halloween treats doesn't have to be scary.

- Indulge in moderation. Enjoy your favorite candy in a mini size, rather than the bigger version.
- Don't stock up on bulk bags of candy for trick-or-treaters too early in the spooky season. The less time they're ""lurking"" in your house, the better!
- Instead of buying high-sugar chocolate and gummy candies, these great options satisfy a sweet tooth, without the guilt: . To keep candy costs down, hand out just 1-2 items, rather than a big handful.
- Skip candy altogether! You can still bring big smiles to neighborhood kids with small toys like bouncy balls, glow sticks, fake spiders, bubble wands, and temporary tattoos. (Their parents will thank you!)

What are your favorite ways to get into the (healthy) Spirit?
