Our bodies are wildly magic. Giving birth will forever be one of the most sacred things I’ve experienced.
The fourth trimester is the chapter nobody talks enough about. The season of slowing down, bonding & rebuilding. Forget the “snap back” culture. Your body just did something miraculous. Now it deserves rest, nourishment & soft care. You have a wound the size of a dinner plate where your placenta once lived. You can’t see it, but your body is working overtime to seal, soothe & restore.
I know it’s a privilege to have the space to rest or be cared for especially in a world that forgets how sacred postpartum really is. But even if it’s just small moments here & there give yourself permission to cocoon.
One of the most comforting rituals I’ve done after all my births is herbal sitz baths. There’s something about warm, herb-infused water that feels like a hug for your whole body.
Here are a few of my favorite plant allies for yoni healing postpartum:
*calendula* the golden healer. helps soothe soreness & speed tissue repair.
*uva ursi* tones & supports the urinary tract think of her as a gentle guardian that helps prevent infection.
*plantain* the “boo-boo leaf” cools irritation, eases itching & helps your skin bounce back.
*comfrey* nature’s “stitch-it-together” plant. encourages cells to regenerate & tissues to strengthen.
*lavender* the calm in the chaos. cleanses, soothes & helps your nervous system chill.
*marshmallow root* soft, sweet & hydrating. adds a layer of comfort and moisture for tender tissues.
*chamomile* a gentle hug in herb form. reduces swelling & tension while calming the body & spirit.
*yarrow* the fierce protector. helps stop bleeding, promotes healing & wards off infection.
Together these herbs make the perfect postpartum soak comforting, cleansing, & full of plant magic.
Remember, everything else can wait.
Your healing is what keeps everything else flowing.
