Burnout doesn’t look the same for everyone.
In my new book, The Burnout Epidemic, I talk about burnout profiles, not as labels, but as signals that your nervous system is communicating to you.
✨ Overstimulated (chronic activation):
You feel wired, anxious, “on” all the time, and slowing down feels uncomfortable or even unsafe.
✨ Shut Down (conservation mode):
Low energy, mental fog, numbness, withdrawal. This isn’t laziness, this is your body protecting itself after prolonged stress.
✨ Mixed Burnout (push → crash cycle):
You push through with willpower, adrenaline, or caffeine, then your body pulls the plug and you crash into exhaustion, illness, or shutdown.
✨ Nervous System Collapse (final boundary):
The system can no longer compensate. Capacity is reduced across the board, and even small tasks can feel overwhelming. This isn’t failure, this is your body saying enough.
Here’s what I want you to remember:
Your burnout profile is not who you are. It’s where your system is right now.
Where you are shapes what you need.
The Burnout Epidemic will be available on Amazon January 6th.
Inside, I break down the different types of burnout and what’s actually helpful for each, plus reflection questions you can return to as you rebuild safety in your body and begin regaining your vitality.
Vitality doesn’t come from pushing harder.
It comes from listening to your body more accurately.
