We have had the privilege to hem and haw over how to support tomorrow’s national businesss blackout. I, Marley, have been writing dissertations in this caption area about the importance of activism and Yoga that I see being washed over.
But for now in support of the business blackout and of all people who are suffering due to the lack of humanity, compassion, and civil rights in this country, we will be staying open as a community space to come practice, be in community, and receive support but not engage economically. Aka classes are free.
I have zero idea if this is the right thing to do from the perspective of “the world”, but it feels like the yes for us.
Arrive 15 minutes early so you can get set up into class and we will provide mats, towels, and an incredible amount of space to be seen and held.
Tomorrow I will do a much more in-depth post for those who choose to learn more about the history of Yoga and yogi/Yogini revolutionaries. Not people who just sat around on their meditation cushions, but who actually did stand up and literally fight, not just metaphorically, for their and others rights.
Any questions send us a message or an email at info@cocoontampa.com. Be safe, be well, most importantly, be free. In our stories I will share a very digestible post on what you CAN do tomorrow if not going to your job is simply not an option.
and, yes, I’m turning comments off because the nastiness that flies through as we fall behind the veil of separation is not something I’m supporting giving voice to.
