Upper and lower eyelid surgery before and after

Many patients interested in eyelid surgery tell me the same thing: they look tired even after a full night of sleep. This patient underwent upper and lower eyelid surgery to rejuvenate the eye area and restore a more rested look. The upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin that can weigh down the lid, and the lower eyelid surgery addresses under eye fullness and laxity. In her case, I also performed a lower lid skin pinch to soften fine wrinkles without changing the shape of her eye.

My goal with eyelid surgery is to open the eye, brighten the expression, and keep you looking like yourself.

What made the biggest difference?

This is a 2-week before and after from a secondary facelift. Her initial facelift was not performed in the deep plane, lea if her with scarring.

With a revision deep plane facelift, we were able to address the deeper facial structures to restore natural support and definition to the jawline and neck.

Even at just two weeks post-op, you can see a more refreshed, natural contour. Results will continue to improve as healing progresses.

Does “deep plane” mean a longer recovery? Not necessarily.
Deep plane describes WHERE the lift happens.

In a preservational deep-plane approach:
• We undermine less skin
• We focus more work in the SMAS/deep layer (a true support layer)
• It’s a natural glide plane - and the SMAS is different from skin (different embryologic origin)

Less surface disruption can mean less tenderness and often less bruising/swelling.

Men get plastic surgery too. This patient wanted his neck heaviness treated. He is fit and healthy and wanted his neck to match his inward energy. He had a neck lift and is very happy with the results and so are we. Many times in men I will perform an isolated necklift if they are not bothered by descent around the jawline and midface.
