At Q3 Healthcare Consulting, our name was never chosen by accident.

Recently, Dr. Smith sat down with Norman Harris of Comfort Measures to share the story behind “Q3” and the philosophy that drives our work every day.

The “Q” represents quality, inspired by quality management pioneer Joseph M. Juran, whose work transformed how organizations think about performance, systems, and leadership.

The “3” reflects the triangle, one of the strongest structural shapes in the world. For us, it symbolizes the strength that comes from aligned systems, strong leadership, and engaged people working together toward a common purpose.

Twenty-five years of long-term care leadership leaves a mark. For Pamela Carrube, it built something worth celebrating.

Pam has been appointed as an AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Examiner at the Silver level. She brings to this role a career that spans clinical leadership, human resources, workforce development, and regulatory compliance across multi-facility organizations. As a former VP of HR and Learning, she understands what it takes to build teams and systems that actually hold up under scrutiny.

That is exactly what Silver Examiners are asked to assess.

Pam's credentials reflect the depth she brings: RN GERO-BC, QCP, CDP, CADDCT, CHSP, SHRM-CP, and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. She integrates QAPI, systems thinking, and evidence-based methodology into her work every day. Providers who receive her feedback during the review process are getting insight grounded in real operational experience.

Dr. Kelly Smith, CEO of Q3 Healthcare Consulting, has been appointed as a 2026 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Examiner and Trainer at the Gold level. That means she is not only reviewing the most rigorous applications in the program, she is also helping develop the examiners who do that work alongside her.

What makes this meaningful is not the title. It is what the title represents: years of showing up for the quality improvement work, learning the Baldrige criteria from the inside out, and then choosing to give that knowledge back to the profession.

That is what service in this field looks like.
