The question we get asked most… what does Avec mean? 🤔

The name Avec comes from the French word for “with.” We chose it intentionally because we believe therapy is a journey best taken together. Our goal is to be with families through each stage of growth.

I grew up in the Zephyrhills/Dade City area, and opening Avec here was intentional. Community and family have always been important to me. My family’s roots are French, with ancestors who immigrated to Canada and later to the United States. Their focus on connection and caring for others is something I carry into my work every day. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

At Avec, we’re passionate about family-centered care, strong relationships, and meeting people where they are. Being “with” our families and clients every step of the way is at the heart of everything we do.

We’re growing in Dade City and looking to welcome a pediatric occupational therapist to our Avec Therapy team. This role is rooted in play, connection, and supporting meaningful participation in each client’s everyday life.

We’re seeking an OT who is confident working independently, values collaboration, and aligns with our core values of accountability, excellence, and collaboration. Prior pediatric experience is required.

We’re excited to share that Avec Therapy Services is partnering with , a neuro-specialist PT/OT clinic, to bring speech therapy to their incredible, established clients. This is care that’s been deeply needed, and we’re grateful to step into it alongside a team that truly values interdisciplinary collaboration. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

We’re looking for a medical SLP who feels at home with a neuro caseload, works with intention, and aligns with our values of accountability, excellence, and collaboration. 🧠 Experience is ideal, but we’re also open to a CF with strong medical/neuro training who’s eager to grow within a supportive, team-based environment.

This role offers flexibility (anywhere from 15–40 hours/week) and the opportunity to do meaningful, functional work—side by side with PTs and OTs who care deeply about their clients. If this sounds like the kind of work you want to be part of, we’d love to hear from you.

Nothing lights us up like hearing about a new meal time success from one of our families! ✨Family-style meals are a huge piece of the puzzle for getting “picky eaters” exposed to new foods. This family has only been with us for a month — talk about progress! 🤩

Meet Skylar, one of our incredible SLPAs! 🌱

Skylar is about to begin her final semester of her SLP master’s program at Faulkner University! Her passion in the field is for working with non-speaking and minimally-speaking children. She’s also interested in growing her skills in feeding therapy. 🍴

Most recently, she’s worked with autistic and neurodivergent individuals by helping them build meaningful, functional skills in ways that honor their autonomy, communication, sensory needs, and individuality.

We had a silly, spooky time last night at our joint Story Time & Sensory Night event! 👻

A night filled with our favorite things - learning through play, making a mess, and eating a sweet treat! 🎃🍫

After reading Room on the Broom, Jaimie and Skylar from Team Avec talked through spatial concepts and comprehension questions related to the book.

There was something really special about collaborating with our client’s OT during this morning’s session — seeing how communication and regulation support each other in real time. We set up at OT page on her trial AAC device so it can be used across settings, and got to use it in real-time while she worked on sensory-motor tasks.

Today’s co-treat reminded us how much growth happens when therapy feels like play, and when each child’s team truly works together toward connection. 💚
