We are excited to welcome Christopher Martin, MD, MBA, FACS, to AdventHealth Medical Group Multispecialty at Riverview.

Christopher Martin, MD, MBA, FACS, is a board-certified urologist caring for patients ages 17 and older. Dr. Martin felt called to urology because of its ability to combine surgical precision with long-term patient relationships. He desires to improve his patients’ quality of life and continuously engages with innovative technologies and treatments. He earned hismedical degree from Florida State University. After completinghis degree, he completed his surgical internship and urology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. He is board-certified by the American Board of Urology. In his free time, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with his wife and family, as well as traveling. He’s grown to appreciate gardening and landscaping and loves to find ways to stay connected to nature, including maintaining a saltwater aquarium.

Dr. Martin listens attentively to his patients and seeks to build long-term relationships with them, so they feel informed and supported on their health journeys. Dr. Martin is dedicated to our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ through his commitment to providing expert, compassionate urologic care.

Ajitha Jickson, MSN, APRN, is a board-certified advanced practice registered nurse who specializes in neurosurgery and cares for patients 18 and older. Ajitha was called to the field of medicine because of her drive to make a difference in the lives of others and to provide healing in vulnerable moments. Ajitha earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and earned her Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner degree from South University. In her free time, Ajitha enjoys spending time with her kids and fitness training.

We are excited to welcome Tess Aven, DNP, APRN, CNM, to AdventHealth Medical Group Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pine Avenue and AdventHealth Medical Group Obstetrics & Gynecology at TimberRidge.

Tess Aven, DNP, APRN, CNM, is a board-certified nurse midwife and doctorally prepared advanced practice nurse with over a decade of experience in women’s health and has participated in various local and international outreach projects, such as One Way Ministries. She is deeply passionate about providing quality, evidence-based care that empowers women through every stage of life. Her extensive clinical background encompasses the full scope of midwifery, including first assisting in surgery, managing low- to high-risk obstetrics, and addressing a wide range of gynecological needs from routine wellness visits to complex conditions. Tess was called to midwifery because of her belief that every woman deserves compassionate care tailored to their unique needs and desires. Throughout her career, Tess has contributed to the development of innovative programs that improve maternal and fetal outcomes. She was a founding team member of the Cincinnati Fetal Care Center and helped launch perinatal services at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. She also implemented a human trafficking response protocol at the Citrus Pregnancy Center in Inverness, Florida, expanding trauma-informed care in a medically underserved area. Tess is known for her collaborative approach, her commitment to lifelong learning, and her heart for serving diverse populations. She brings a holistic approach to care recognizing the physical, emotional, and social aspects of health. Whether in the clinic, the hospital, or the community, she strives to ensure every woman she cares for feels heard, respected, and supported. In her free time, Tess enjoys spending time with her family, rejuvenating in nature, cooking and participating at her local church. She is a lifelong learner, always seeking opportunities to grow.

Tess finds deep joy in walking alongside her patients and empowering them in their healthcare journeys. She has witnessed firsthand how access to proper resources can profoundly impact mothers, babies, and entire communities.
