The Spine is meant to do spine things.
When you loose the mobility to rotate in the spine, the body begins to compensate.

This pattern of give and take can be problematic and put you at risk for disease or degeneration.

Why? You may be asking.

When mobility is lost somewhere you often make up for it in a surrounding joint. The problem is when the body makes up for it by becoming hyper-mobile in neighboring joints it means there is a loss in stability.

The aftermath of Hurricane Helene has changed the lives of so many in our community.

Our hearts are broken to see all the destruction AND In hard times it has been beautiful to witness our community coming together to reestablish what was lost.

While we know resources are needed, we also know that physical and emotional stress takes a toll on the body.

If this resonates with your work week, it is important to know this is an Up-Regulated state in which you are in a Fight or Flight. Your Nervous system is not down regulating at any point.

What does this mean?
👉 It is the primal equivalent of you being chased by a Lion - ALL - DAY - LONG. The Nervous System is meant to respond in bursts in order to get you to safety.

What does this have to do with breathing?
👉 Your Diaphragm is supported in an intentional breathwork practice and helps to downregulate the fight or flight rhythm our bodies can get ‘stuck’ in if your day to day resembles the weekday described above.
