What a wonderful surprise 💫

Today at The Early Childhood Council of Hillsborough County (ECC) luncheon at Tampa Yacht & Country Club, our Executive Director, Marisa Mowat, was honored, unexpectedly, by Steve Martus and the ECC for our guiding our Coalition's culture through partnership and collaboration.

We are proud to stand alongside partners like The Early Childhood Council of Hillsborough County whose work ensures children, from birth to age five, have access to quality early learning, developmental screenings, and the support families need to thrive. Their efforts help identify delays early and connect families to critical services, setting the stage for lifelong success.

Today’s touching stories from parents were powerful reminders that when we show up early, we change everything. 💚👶🏽

A little wind, a lot of love 💙

Our pinwheel gardens are still spinning across Hillsborough County. Today we're sharing our gardens at our HealthySteps sites at 17 Davis and the CMS Clinic. Each pinwheel represents a shared promise for safe, supported, and thriving childhoods for every child.

From clinic rooms to community spaces, we’re planting reminders that prevention starts with connection, support, and showing up for families every single day.

Mapping Resilience: Stories of Young Motherhood is now open.

Mahir Rahman, graduate student in the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida, and our former research inter, has been leading a journey mapping and photovoice project with young mothers in the Tampa Bay community and across our programs.

Come and enjoy an immersive, audio-visual exhibit amplifying the real stories of pregnant and parenting adolescents in our community. Through powerful visuals and firsthand voices, this experience brings their journeys, challenges, and resilience into focus.

Some mornings stay with you...and today was one of them. 💙

We were honored to join the Children's Board of Hillsborough County for their Child Abuse Prevention event at SOFWERX, a powerful gathering rooted in hope, healing, and community.

We’re especially proud of our own voices who helped shape the conversation, Barbara Macelli, Program Manager of Healthy Families Hillsborough, and Dr. Tanner Wright of USF Pediatrics, representing the impactful work of our PEDI and PRISM Clinics.

From moving poetry and musical performances by local youth to the presence of Bikers Against Child Abuse, the program was a beautiful reminder of what it looks like when a community shows up loud, compassionate and united.

Every child deserves to feel safe.
Every family deserves support.
And every baby deserves a healthy start. 💙

This Child Abuse Prevention Month, we joined our partners at Mary Lee's House to plant a pinwheel garden. The pinwheel garden is a symbol of the safe, happy, and healthy childhood every child deserves.

With a little extra joy from special guests, Cookie the mini horse from Honey’s Mini Therapy Adventures, and Barley the therapy dog, this moment reminded us that healing, hope, and prevention can grow side by side. 🌱

From Mary Lee’s House to our off-site WIC and HealthySteps locations, every pinwheel represents our shared commitment to protecting children, supporting families, and building a stronger, safer community together.
