Deuteronomy 31:6, Luke 12:2–3 & 8–9 ✔️ 13/52 🙂
Switched it up this week and went with 3 shorter passages instead of one longer one. It’s always so hard to choose which verses to go with each week!

If you missed it, I’m memorizing passages each week through my Bible-in-a-year plan and would love for you to join me. I saved the plan in my highlights if you want to follow along! If you’re doing this with me, tag me so I can share — let’s encourage each other 💞

Colossians 3:1–10 ❌ | 10/52

Not going to sugarcoat it… this week was a total fail. I didn’t memorize a single word.

The last couple weeks at Armentrout Acres have shifted quickly and I let myself fall out of my rhythm.

But instead of skipping this week and pretending it didn’t happen, I still wanted to share the passage.

You’re not going to win every week. Discipline isn’t proven when everything is easy — it’s proven in what you do after you fall out of rhythm. So this is me resetting. As my Asst. Pastor always says, you don’t get a do over but you do get a start over.

If you’re doing this with me and had a hard week too… you’re not alone. Let’s start again.

Hebrews 12:5b–6 & 11 ✔️ 9/52 😌
This one felt especially fitting this week.

Lots of big changes in the Armentrout household — the kind that stretch you, expose weak spots, and require a whole lot of intentionality. And right in the middle of it, these verses.

Discipline isn’t something we magically wake up with. It’s trained. Practiced. Refined. Sometimes painfully.

But if we want the peaceful fruit of righteousness, we can’t avoid the pruning.
This week reminded me that discipline isn’t punishment — it’s love. It’s alignment. It’s preparation for what’s ahead. And in seasons of transition, it’s more important than ever.

If you missed it, I’m doing a memory verse every week out of my Bible in a year plan and inviting you all to come along and memorize with me! I have a highlight if you’d like to see which plan I’m doing. If you’re doing this with me, tag me and I’ll share so we can encourage others!!💞

Psalm 111 ✔️ 7/52 😌

Memorized my first entire Psalm 🥳
It’s only 10 verses, but I’ll take it!

If you missed it, I’m memorizing passages each week from my Bible-in-a-year plan — and I’d love for you to join me. I saved the plan I’m following in my highlights if you want to jump in. If you’re doing this with me, tag me so I can share and we can encourage others! 💞

Philippians 4:11–13 ✔️ 7/52

This week was far from perfect. I ended up cramming all of my reading in yesterday and just started rehearsing this verse today. If I’m being honest, if it weren’t for the number of people who’ve come up to me or messaged me saying this has blessed them and motivated them to read and memorize more… I probably would have skipped posting this week.

That’s exactly why accountability and community matter so much in our walk.

It’s so easy to think, “I’ve been consistent for six weeks — missing one won’t matter.” But one small choice not to show up makes it easier to make the same choice the next day… and the next. Before you know it, you’ve quietly drifted.

I even noticed a shift in my mental state this week. When I’m not renewing my mind daily and meditating on His Word, I feel it.

So truly — thank you. To everyone who messages me or stops me to share how the Lord has used this to encourage you… your encouragement keeps me accountable. Without that, I might have stepped off the track — and if I’m honest, judging the past I would’ve stayed off.

oh how fitting is this week’s verse.

Not in my discipline — but in Him. 💛

Philippians 2:3–11 ✔️ 6/52 😌

We’re at a dear friend’s home this weekend, so I get the privilege of filming this week’s memory verse on their beautiful property.
This passage was so soothing to memorize. Every time I practiced it, it brought such peace and joy to my heart — I couldn’t help but smile. I pray you were able to meditate on it this week too.

If you missed it, I’m memorizing Scripture each week through my Bible-in-a-year plan and inviting you to join me. I have a highlight saved if you’d like to see which plan I’m using. If you’re doing this with me, tag me so I can share — let’s encourage each other 💞
