Since 1997, I have been in practice studying different types of therapies and meditation from wonderful teachers in many countries; concentrating on Visceral Manipulation, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and Myofascial Release, and Advanced Certified in Lymphatic Drainage. Originally, I received my Masters in Business Administration from the University of Tampa, and I worked in development for several non-profit organizations. In 1993 I was in a car crash which resulted in an L1- T12 fracture. Following the accident, I was bedridden for several years. My conus medullaris and cauda equine of my spinal cord was damaged. In the healing process, I had to learn to walk again. Experiencing organ problems and horrific pain levels led me to travel the world in search of healing and seek treatment through many surgeries. The combination of western medicine, alternative medicine, and mediation has brought me where I am today. As a result, I study therapies for my own healing process. My struggles have been a great asset to me; understanding pain and healing has many levels and can be a beautiful, transforming, and hard journey to undertake. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to share the knowledge and wisdom that I have gained personally with my many clients today. Paula

The Murder and the Guide 🦉 🐦‍⬛

A group of crows is called a murder. They often attack a single bird, take over its nest, and consume its eggs or hatchlings. The owl, however, is a very different kind of bird. It symbolizes guidance, wisdom, intuition, and the ability to see through deception. The owl represents a deep understanding of truth and is often seen as a messenger between the spiritual and physical worlds. Its silent, watchful nature suggests foresight, objective observation, and the importance of trusting one’s inner voice.

A mother owl sits firmly on her nest, guarding her young. When a murder of crows gathers to attack, she remains still, patient, and unmoved—trusting that perseverance and composure are her strongest protection. If her owlets choose to step outside her shelter, they make themselves vulnerable, but that choice is theirs. Regardless, she does not waver, even as the crows attack her or her fledglings. She knows that, eventually, the crows will tire and fly away, and the danger will pass.

Unlike a hawk or other birds of prey, the owl does not fight back aggressively or abandon her nest. Instead, she endures, steady and unshaken. In time, she leads her young to a safer place, but her strength lies not in force, rather in her calm, unwavering presence.

If we could learn from the owl—remaining grounded and steadfast despite the turbulence of the world—we might find greater peace. We can guide others, but if they choose to ignore our protection or wisdom, that is their decision. Our role is to remain steady, for worldly trials are only temporary. 🦉Paula Phelps Smart LMT-CLT ACM CPST

Lymphatic complications can result from diverse causes, including infections, surgery, trauma, radiation, and various other reasons. Given the potential for inadequate training among lymphatic drainage providers, it is vital to confirm their credentials. I am completing my advanced certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, focusing on post-plastic surgery management.

“Lymphfluencers” claim this type of massage can filter out toxins, help you lose weight, and boost your immune system. Here’s what science says.

Water

“Some people say they don't want to drink before bed
so you don't have to get up at night to go to the bathroom
I asked my cardiologist why do people (especially old people) p*e so much at night.
His answer was: When you stand or sit,
the force of gravity holds water in your lower body.
This is why legs can swell.
When you lie down, your lower body seeks balance with the kidneys.
So the kidneys remove the water along with the trash because then it's easier.
Water is essential to remove waste from your body.
I asked the cardiologist when is the best time to drink water. He answered me:
Drinking water at well defined times maximizes efficiency in the body.
- 2 glasses of water right after waking up activates internal organs.
- 1 glass of water 30 minutes before each meal improves digestion.
- 1 glass of water before taking a bath (or shower) lowers blood pressure.
- 1 glass of water before going to bed, prevents stroke or heart attack.
Drink water before bed, avoid leg cramps during the night.
Your leg muscles, when you have cramps, are particularly seeking water and moisture.
1. If you take an aspirin every day, it's best to take it at night.
- The reason: aspirin has a "half-span" of 24 hours.
So: if most heart attacks happen in the morning, the aspirin in your body will be at its peak then.
2. Aspirins can last for many years in your small pharmacy,
but not really because as they get older they smell like vinegar.
Why keep aspirin on your bedside table?
Besides pain in the left arm, there are other symptoms that indicate a heart attack:
intense pain in the chin (and jaw), nausea and heavy sweating...
But these symptoms are less common.
Note: in a heart attack it is possible that you have NO chest pain.
If you ever wake up to intense chest pains,
immediately swallow two aspirins with a little water.
Say to the phone "heart attack"! and also that you took 2 aspirin.
Sit on a chair by the front door and wait for rescue.
ESPECIALLY!!! DON'T LAY DOWN !” Unknown Author
