I’m one of those people that’s crazy enough to believe I can change the world.
In the words of Eric Thomas, “I Can. I Will. I Must.”
I am on a mission to equip you with tools you need to free yourself from mental suffering so you can thrive in life.
I am your Mental Fitness Coach.
Sounds deep, doesn’t it? Well, it is, but I am here to make it easy for you. Suffering isn’t a word we use often but it’s something we all can relate to at one point in our lives. Suffering manifests in physical or emotional pain. If you aren’t happy with your job, your relationships are unfulfilling or your life doesn’t seem to have purpose...it causes mental anguish also known as suffering.
I founded the A. Lewis Academy for Well-Being to proven principles to enhance your quality of life. My approaches can be geared to you and your organization. I focus on 7 components of well-being that make you - YOU:
Emotional
Spiritual
Professional
Social
Financial
Physical
Intellectual
My experience as a student, professional athlete and veteran positioned me to become a change agent in the mental wellness space. Your transformation requires each area of your life be balanced. I have dealt with life challenges and trauma while still having to be high- performer in stressful environments.... so I get it.
All success begins in the mind.
I’m excited to have you join my tribe!
After this is the stuff that we should include a bio to show off our smart (blah)... read on but hopefully, by now you see my life’s mission is to help you get your mind right so you get your life right.
I have over a decade of healthcare experience where I worked with organizations to improve the patient and staff experience, internal and external communications, and implement strategies to decrease burnout.
In 2015, I became a best-selling author for my contribution to “The Missing Piece in Forgiveness: Overcoming the Impossible.” In this book, I share how the tragedy of losing my husband, who died a hero serving his country in Iraq, led me to a downward spiral. I suffer from PTSD that manifested as suicidal thoughts, addictive behavior, and chronic depression. During these devastating and often hidden times of suffering, I discovered the one thing that would change it all, mindfulness. I realized I had to focus on my mental stability t began the transformative journey that changed my life.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina (Go, C***s!) with a minor in Sport and Entertainment Management. As the youngest of five children, I am a first-generation college graduate. My greatest joy is hearing the testimony of the lives I help transform and, until January 24, 2018, spending time with her loved miniature poodle, Shyah. The rest of my life is dedicated to her.
