On Jan. 19, 1977, these hospital team members stepped outside to enjoy one of Tampa’s rarest sights—snow! The city officially recorded just 0.2 inches, but the memories were priceless. With chilly weather today, it feels like a throwback moment worth sharing. Who remembers this day?

Kay, CN II, is a recent recipient of the prestigious DAISY® Lifetime Achievement Award. DAISY is a national recognition program for nurses doing extraordinary work and among the highest accolades in the nursing profession, and the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes those nurses who have devoted their life's work to the compassionate care of others.

For the past 30 years—15 of them at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital—Kay has been a steady source of comfort, expertise and joy for the patients and families she serves. Known for her bright smile and outgoing spirit, she has a rare gift for making people feel truly seen and cared for during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Her dedication has also made a lasting impact on her colleagues, who admire her for her kindness, professionalism and unwavering commitment to her team. We are grateful for Kay’s legacy of compassion and excellence, and proud to celebrate her remarkable contributions with this well deserved honor.
