Dr. Gopal Thinakaran, Dr. Amanda Smith, Dr. Laura Blair, Dr. Angele Parent, Eileen Poiley, and Katie Dorsey were happy to represent the Byrd Institute at the 2026 Alzheimer's Association-Florida Gulf Coast Chapter Inspire, Imagine, and Hope gala. Our community partners at the Association provide great support to caregivers locally and nationally, advocate for patients and families by lobbying for government funding to support care, and by funding critical scientific research. 💜

Today our team members Mariah, Lauren, Anna, Dr. Smith, and Dr. Bishnoi spent the day downtown presenting at the regional ALZ-NET meeting. ALZ-NET collects clinical and safety data about patients being evaluated for memory concerns or receiving new FDA-approved treatments for Alzheimer’s and tracks the long-term health outcomes associated with their use in real-world settings.

This morning, Dr. Smith, Dr. Giovinco, Wendy, Anna, and Patti attended the Alzheimer's Association 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s hosted by Alzheimer's Association-Florida Gulf Coast Chapter and co-sponsored by our partners at Tampa General Hospital. We were thrilled to share information on our clinical research and to support the walk-through brain experience, which aims to teach the young generation about the importance of brain health! 💜🧠
