Alyssa Campbell Therapies is a private pediatric therapy practice providing speech, language, occupational, and feeding therapy in children's homes, schools, and daycares throughout the Tampa Bay area. Our exceptional professionals offer evaluations, therapy, and consultations to children with difficulties in the areas of: articulation/speech sounds, language (listening comprehension and expressive language), feeding, stuttering/fluency, and voice. We have working experience with children of all ages ranging from birth to seventeen years of age. We have worked with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's syndrome, Down syndrome, Apraxia, developmentally delayed, epilepsy, and chromosomal abnormalities.

This winter snowman activity will keep little hands busy while targeting speech, language AND occupational therapy goals!

For this activity, you’ll need a few things you probably already have lying around the house!

⛄️ Clear bottle
⛄️ Cotton balls or white pom poms
⛄️ Tongs to make the activity a little more challenging for older kiddos

⛄️ Create your snowman face and body using sharpie, felt, buttons, construction paper or whatever you have on hand!

⛄️ Have your child put the pom poms or cotton balls in the bottle one at a time to practice their fine motor skills!

⛄️ While doing this activity, you can target vocabulary words such as colors, winter words, shapes, numbers as well as emotions and following directions!

🎃 Beaded Fall Pumpkin Activity 🎃

With the start of the Fall season, we are bound to start seeing different shapes and sizes of pumpkins all around town! We thought we'd bring some of the pumpkin fun indoors with a super simple activity for kids.
The directions for this fall craft are easy to follow and you only need a few supplies! This is a perfect weekend activity for your little ones with a ton of therapeutic targets they can work on as well!

Materials:
🍁Orange and Green Pipe Cleaners
🍁Beads - orange and green, multicolor, or whatever you have at home!
🍁Scissors

Instructions:
🎃 Place beads onto your orange pipe cleaner, leaving about half inch on either side.
🎃 Twist the two ends together to form a circle.
🎃 Bend your beaded pipe cleaner into a pumpkin shape.
🎃 Cut a 3-inch green pipe cleaner piece and fold it around your pumpkin between the orange beads.
🎃 Twist the green ends together.

While making this super simple indoor pumpkin craft, your child can target bilateral coordination (using both sides of the body together in an activity), visual motor skills (using hands and eyes together in a coordinated manner), and fine motor skills (ability to make movements using the small muscles in our hands and wrists). You can also target language skills such as color identification, shapes, counting, following directions, sequencing, attention, and vocabulary.

✨ Therapist Spotlight ✨ Dr. Taylor, 𝘖𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘵!

Dr. Taylor received her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Public/Global/Environmental Health from Florida Atlantic University. She earned a Doctor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Saint Augustine - Miami Campus. 🎓 Her professional interests include sensory integration of children, women’s mental health 🧠 and presenting her findings at FOTA and AOTA conferences. Taylor has been part of ACT since 2023.

In her free time, Taylor loves being active either in her community or on the pickleball court! 🏓 She is also an avid visitor of local farmers markets 🥕🌽🍓 where you can find her browsing with her husband and dog, Obi-Wan! 🐾🦴

𝔹𝕠𝕠𝕜𝕨𝕠𝕣𝕞 𝔹𝕠𝕠𝕜𝕞𝕒𝕣𝕜 ℂ𝕣𝕒𝕗𝕥

With summer reading winding down and the school year fast approaching, this kid-friendly bookmark craft is a perfect activity to keep your little bookworm busy! 📚🐛

ᴍᴀᴛᴇʀɪᴀʟꜱ:
🐛 Scrapbook paper or card stock 📄
🐛 Scissors ✂️
🐛 Googly eyes 👀
🐛 Glue
🐛 Markers
🐛 2-3” circle/bottle lid ⭕️
🐛 Pencil ✏️

ꜱᴛᴇᴘꜱ:
Trace the lid onto your paper so that you have five circles.
Cut ✂️out the circles ⭕️ with scissors.
Glue the circles together creating a wavy line 〰️ for the body of the bookworm 🐛.
Glue two googly eyes 👀 onto the circle all the way to the right and give your bookworm a face 😊.
Leave it overnight to dry.
Use it to keep your spot in your favorite books! 📚

While working on this fun craft, your child can practice scissor skills, fine motor skills, sequencing, following directions, prepositions, colors, counting, and shapes
