Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. The word Ayurveda is a combination of two words, Ayu, meaning life, and Veda, meaning knowledge. Ayurvedic principles teach how to cure diseases and prevent them by living in harmony with nature. Ayurveda provides guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior, and the proper use of our sense organs. It recommends removing accumulated toxins (“aama") in the body — which is the root cause of imbalances and illness — through various Ayurvedic techniques, herbal supplements, diet, and lifestyle changes. Ayurvedic guidelines and home remedies are general guidelines for otherwise healthy individuals. Please consult a professional Ayurvedic practioner or your healthcare provider before trying anything new if you have any under lying health conditions. Sushma Jakkula, the founder of Ojas ayurveda, has a degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from India. She graduated in 2002 from NTR University of Health Sciences after completing five and half years of study in Ayurveda. She believes in promoting health and healing through a holistic approach. Her mission is to prevent illness, promote health, and offer natural healing through Ayurveda. She currently serves on the board of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA).

Ginger tea is very commonly used in many digestive issues like indigestion, flatulence, bloating, and nausea.
Ginger may help to lower blood cholesterol levels and improve circulation. It aids in weight loss and to lower blood sugar levels.
Ginger juice mixed with equal quantities of honey when consumed helps to relieve common cold, cough and sore throat.
Avoid Ginger in conditions like skin diseases, anaemia, urine retention,burning micturition, skin rashes, wounds, fever etc and during summer.
