Hands On Vocational Explorations Hands On Vocational Explorations is a program created by Hands On Educational Svcs. to assist young

Vocational Explorations is modeled after our award-winning training "Hands On @ Hyatt", which started in 1998. Our program is made possible through a unique partnership with FL Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, school districts, and local business partners who allow our students to participate in mini internships. These business-based experiences help the students to learn more about various industries before they leave high school.

A very rare and unusual situation! This is our man Ethan assisting his MOM Marisol in bagging her groceries at Publix Hyde Park! Mom just happened to be shopping there when this Training Manager made a job site visit.... How coincidental!! Also shown is Ethan with his Store Manager Jackie who indicates Ethan is doing a FINE job!! Ethan is an incoming Senior at Plant H.S. this year interested in Computer Science/Cyber-Security and wants to attend UCF in Orlando..... SMART GUY!!!! Jackie indicates if he stays with them thru his Senior year there is a method to transfer to a Publix in Orlando so he has continual employment thru college! So do a GREAT job at Hyde Park Big Guy and the opportunity might be yours! A BIG thank you to Jackie, Nathan and all at Publix for mentoring our man Ethan! Also, a round of applause for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, our funder, for making this all possible! Now Ethan is a Working Man at 17!!!!! You go Guy!!!

Here we have our man Matt with his supervisor Vanessa, the Customer Service Manager at Publix @ Innovation Springs in Wesley Chapel. At his ceremony, Matt was given many accolades by Vanessa and her Asst. Customer Service Manager Matt about our Matt's strong work ethic, dependability and timeliness. She suggested to Matt that he might wish to consider stepping up to cashier or another position with more responsibility! Matt inquired about Pharmacy Tech since Publix has an internal training program for that position... Many thanks to Vanessa, Matt, and all at Publix for their mentoring of the Big Man! Also a big shout out to the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for being our funding partner and making all this possible. Matt is so well liked that he was asked to stay on with the Publix family! What a good start for Matt in his career! You go Big Guy!!!

Here is our man Ethan celebrating with the entire gang at Gregory Veterinary Clinic where he just concluded his 3rd consecutive internship with the practice. 240 hours!! Also, in attendance and pictured is his lovely family. Ethan was extremely well received at Gregory and we want to thank everyone in the practice for their mentorship of the Big Guy! Especially Dr. Ryan, Erin, and Savannah!! His internships spanned the administrative side of the practice as well as the hands-on vet tech applications. Ethan adapted quite well and became a trusted member of the staff. Also, a big round of applause for the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, our funder who made this all possible!

Ethan was so well-liked and appreciated that he was hired part-time for the summer with the practice! Kudos to Ethan and a big thank you to all at Gregory for bringing him on!

Blair is having a PURRfect day working at Kitty City, LLC. She is almost done with her Hands On Education work experience as an animal care assistant. During this internship she has gained valuable work skills that will help as she moves forward in her life and career goals.

Here we have Ms. Violet along with Jeff and Kayla, her supervisors at Diamond View Studios.. Violet was so happy to secure this internship! She learned so much from every staff member and each department about the technical aspects of video production. Now she graduates from high school this month and moves on to HCC where she will study the same... She has been so lucky to have two internships during her high school years preparing her for her studies at the next level... Many thanks to Kayla, Jeff, Erin and all at Diamond View for their mentorship and support! Also, a big shout out to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, our funder, who supports our efforts so much! This is a driven young woman who I see one day in Hollywood directing shows and movies! Seriously!!! You go Violet! You got this!

Here is Shayla rocking her internship at Mojo Books & Records. Pictured with her supervisors, Aliya who reports Shayla is doing a great job.
Shayla is enjoying keeping the record and book shelves neatly stocked and organized. And She is excited to be given the chance to learn the checkout and coffee shop process.
Thank you to MoJo owner, supervisors, and co-workers for providing Shayla this work experience.

Here we have Mr. Matt with his Supervisor Vanessa , on the right, and several colleagues at Publix/Epperson in Wesley Chapel.... Vanessa indicates Matt is doing a fine job and putting in long shifts... Hence, he is about to conclude his 80 hour internship in 1 1/2 months!!! He will then be hired on part-time by Publix. We would like to thank Vanessa and all at Publix for their mentorship and support.... Also, a big hand to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, our funder.... Matt is a great asset to the company and this job coach sees him working up through the ranks! You go Matt!!!

Here we have Mr. Ethan performing and Initial Assessment with Shelby The Dog, on a recent visit.... In the photo, you will see a very excited Shelby and Ethan doing his best to keep her calmed down... Also in the picture, are the legs of her human family who love Shelby very much! Ethan has really grown through three internships with Gregory Vets and it shows. Ethan has learned their internal processes/protocols and integrates with staff very well. He is quite well received and does a commendable job with anything asked of him. He treats it all as a learning experience for a potential future career in veterinary medicine. A big shout out to Erin, Savannah and all at Gregory for giving Ethan these three opportunities that he will never forget! Much appreciation as well to the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for being our funding partner and making this all happen! You go Sir!!!!
