Imagine being at a doctor’s office, work, a family gathering or anywhere in public when someone comments on your weight in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable. Perhaps you want to say something to stand up for yourself ... but your mind goes blank. Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever wished for a do-over?

As part of an upcoming workshop "Can I Get a Do-Over?" at the Your Weight Matters National Convention with Robyn Pashby, PhD, we’re gathering real-life scenarios from our community to inspire our conversation and shape ideas that can help us respond to situations like these in ways that make us feel good.

If you've had an experience like this, please share it with us. Feel free to simply tell us what happened, or include what you would have liked to do or say differently. Sharing your scenario will help create a more meaningful and impactful discussion. We will not add names to the scenarios used to maintain anonymity. Email the scenarios to: convention@obesityaction.org

Your voice matters and can help others feel seen, understood and supported.

The high cost of GLP-1 medications is a well-known barrier that has kept life-changing treatments out of reach for many.

After years of feeling like we’d never see these treatment options in the hands of those who need it most, we’re now seeing the progress of raising our voices and demanding fair and affordable access to care: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yg6kyd9dzo

In less than 48 hours, Rhode Island could strip healthcare coverage from vulnerable residents. This Thursday, April 9, the Senate Finance Committee will vote on Governor Daniel McKee’s budget, which would end Medicaid coverage for obesity management medications. Obesity is a chronic disease that requires science-based care. Protect access now and send a message to Rhode Island lawmakers: https://bit.ly/4e3LAvq
