2.5 million Medicare-eligible veterans in Tricare for Life have recently lost their coverage of weight-loss medications by the Defense Health Agency—a benefit Medicare-eligible retirees had been guaranteed since 2001.

“At 69 years old, after decades in uniform and a promise of lifetime healthcare, I never thought I would have to fight the Pentagon for medications my doctor deems essential,” says Col. Derence V. Fivehouse.
