You cannot graft a reductionist vocabulary onto a holistic framework.
By insisting on labeling a fluid, dynamic state of flow as "flexible top-down guidance," Kotler conceptually splits the subjective "evaluative" mind from the objective "aroused" body. He commits the "bifurcation of nature," trying to force the whole-brain reality of predictive processing into outdated, dualistic cause-and-effect boxes.
