✨ Therapist Spotlight: Mr. Scott ✨

Meet Mr. Scott, one of our incredible Registered Behavior Technicians! 💫
Since joining Lama in 2024, he’s become known for his strong pairing skills, engaging circle times, and his impressive board game collection (100+ and counting! 🎲).

☕️ Go-to coffee: Caramel Macchiato
🧸 Favorite therapy tool: Circle time
🎯 Specialty: Pairing

💬 Why he loves working at Lama:
“I can’t pick just one favorite thing about working at Lama. I love the support everyone provides each other, the ethical standards we uphold to protect the dignity of our clients, and how involved our parents are in their children’s therapy. Therapy isn’t as effective without follow-through at home, and I’ve never worked at a clinic where parents were so invested.”

We’re so grateful to have you on our team, Mr. Scott! 🤍🦙

✨ Milestone Monday | 7–8 Months ✨

Big little changes are happening at the table! Around 7–8 months, many babies begin to:
🥄 Handle thicker purées and soft mashed foods
🤲 Use a raking grasp to pick up small pieces
🥤 Start practicing straw or open cup drinking with help
🍌 Try self-feeding soft foods like banana or avocado
👅 Show better tongue control with less pushing food out

Every baby moves at their own pace, and messy exploration is part of learning! If feeding feels tricky or stressful, our therapists are here to help support confident, safe eating skills 💙

We had the most magical morning with Santa 🤍🎄 He took his time with each and every kiddo, meeting them exactly where they were and making sure they felt comfortable, safe, and celebrated. Moments like these are what the season and our clinic are all about.

Here is our virtual holiday card to all of you.
This team is something truly amazing... the team of my dreams. A group of people who show up every single day with creativity, fun, and joy. People who genuinely love what they do, and who deeply care for one another. People who give their heart and soul to the kids and families we serve.

To our families: thank you for trusting us with your children. It is one of the greatest joys of our lives to support them, celebrate them, and walk alongside you.

And to my Lama family: thank you for all that you do. We would not be here without you.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Lama Pediatric Therapy 🤍

🌟 Therapist Spotlight Tuesday 🌟
Today we’re excited to highlight Charsie Valdez, one of our incredible Registered Behavior Technicians who joined Lama Pediatric Therapy in 2024 and has been spreading joy, movement, and music ever since! 🎶💛

⭐️ Specialty: Littles under 5 — Charsie loves supporting our youngest learners and helping them grow through play, connection, and child-led exploration.
⭐️ Favorite Therapy Tool: Movement breaks!
She incorporates purposeful movement to keep sessions fun, engaging, and just right for tiny bodies that are always on the go.
⭐️ Go-To Coffee Order:
An oat milk matcha with peppermint and vanilla (the perfect combo to keep the energy flowing through busy clinic days!).
⭐️ Fun Fact:
She has a karaoke playlist locked and loaded at a moment’s notice 🤣🎤

When we asked Charsie what she loves most about working at Lama, she shared:
“I love working at Lama because the clinic is very child-led and play-based, which really allows the staff and clients to pair and address goals in a safe, fun environment!”

We are so grateful for the positivity, creativity, and heart Charsie brings to our team and to every child she works with. 💛✨

Help us celebrate Charsie today! 👏

Using simple signs is a powerful way to support early communication and it never stops speech development! Here are our therapist-approved tips:

🤟 Start with Functional Signs
Begin with words your child really needs: help, all done, open, eat, drink, stop. Functional signs lead to faster success.

✨ Model Frequently
Use the sign every time you say the word. Kids learn best through repetition and consistent routines.

🙂 Pair Signs with Speech
Always say the word as you sign it. This helps build vocabulary and supports spoken language later on.

👀 Follow Their Lead
Sign during activities or routines your child loves such as snack time, bubbles, bath time, playground. Motivation = learning!

👏 Celebrate Any Attempt
Approximate signs count! Reinforce effort with praise, access to the item, or excitement.

⏳ Keep It Simple
Introduce 1–2 signs at a time so your child isn’t overwhelmed. Once mastered, add new ones.

📱 Use Visual Supports
Pictures, videos, or therapist modeling can help you stay consistent and confident.

🌟 Therapist Spotlight: Ms. Mickenzie! 🌟
We are so lucky to have Mickenzie on our team! Since joining LPT in March 2024, she has brought compassion, creativity, and a deep love for early intervention to every session. 💛

Her favorite therapy tool? Our sensory room!
Her fun fact? She has a chameleon named Oscar the Grouch 🦎
Her go-to coffee? A cold brew with mocha + caramel ☕️✨

What we love most is the heart she brings to our families and our team. Mickenzie is dedicated, supportive, and always striving to give her clients the very best.

Why she loves working here?
She says "I love working at Lama because there is a constant support system. It feels like we are a family, always striving to do our best for our clients and for each other. The BCBAs and leaders of the company are highly dedicated, ensuring clients are receiving the best possible care. They are amazing role models to have while building a career in ABA, couldn’t ask for a better company to be at!"

Help us celebrate her today! 💙🦙
