Over my last 5 years of living vegan, I have come to understand all of the ways veganism (a lifestyle founded on reducing harm) is interconnected. Not only with liberating animals, healing the environment, and improving our health, but also:
- The human rights violations: “Workers in the meat industry make an average of $23,000 a year, work 10+ hours a day, are pushed so hard they often defecate in their pants to avoid slowing down, and suffer a repetitive motion injury rate 30 times the national average. The pressure to never slow down the assembly line is so intense that employees urinate on the equipment rather than being allowed to take a short break. A massive statistical analysis found that after controlling for many variables including poverty and immigration, counties with slaughterhouses have four times the national average of violent arrest, with significantly higher rates of alcoholism, domestic abuse, child abuse and suicide.” - . The animal agriculture industry is not only extremely unethical for animals, but for people too. On the other hand, people who work on plant-based farms tend to have higher quality of life and more fulfillment, as they are using their hands to *grow*, not to kill.

- The spiritual aspect of eating animals. Animals raised in factory farms endure trauma and pain their entire lives. They never experience love or a true moment of peace. They live and they die extremely stressed, carrying high levels of cortisol and negative energy in their bodies. This cortisol and negative energy stay and live inside of every animal-based food. That energy then gets transferred to the person who eats them. If you are spiritual, I implore you to try a vegan diet 💚 I have personally experienced increased enlightenment on my spiritual journey, as a vegan.

As I have continued learning, I continue to see that living vegan is the key to end the needless destruction and suffering on our planet for all species and to create a compassionate, healthy, and sustainable world. For current and future generations.
