🫀 Three Days. One Powerful Cardiac Deep Dive. 🫀

Last week, TGH Aeromed had the privilege of teaching a 3-day, all-inclusive cardiac course to our partners at Madeira Beach Fire Department — and it was anything but basic.

This immersive class covered:
• A deep dive into cardiac anatomy & physiology
• 🫀 Hands-on anatomy lab stations
• The normal cardiac cycle
• 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Recognition of dysrhythmias & arrhythmias
• Cardiac pharmacology
• Evidence-based treatment and management strategies

Our goal is simple: equip our Fire Rescue and EMS partners with practical, high-level cardiac education that translates directly to better patient care when minutes matter most.

👏 Huge thank you to the Madeira Beach Fire Department crews for their engagement, thoughtful questions, and commitment to continuing education.

💬 Let’s hear from you:
What cardiac topic do you wish your team had more hands-on training with?

📌 Side note for agencies planning ahead:
We are now scheduling education for 2026 and are offering quarterly scheduling options to make planning easier for departments.

✔️ All classes are FREE
✔️ CEUs are provided for all courses

Honored. Grateful. Inspired. 🇺🇸🚑🚁

This week, several of our TGH Aeromed team members had the incredible opportunity to attend the 2025 Congressional Fire and Rescue EMS Awards, after being nominated by our amazing partners at Manatee County Public Safety Department & Manatee County EMS.

In February 2025, our Aeromed 1 and Aeromed 4 crews responded alongside Manatee County EMS to a devastating single vehicle accident involving multiple pediatric patients. It was a scene requiring extraordinary coordination, calm under pressure, and clinical excellence—with three aircraft requested to transport critically injured children.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Manatee County EMS for their incredible care and the expertly organized multi-ship response. Their swift actions, triage, and coordination prior to our arrival had a direct and meaningful impact on our patients’ outcomes.

We are truly honored to stand beside our Manatee County EMS colleagues as they receive recognition for their heroic work. Thank you for nominating us, and thank you for the trust, teamwork, and unwavering commitment you demonstrate on every call.

TGH Aeromed is proud to serve this community, proud of our crews, and proud of the partnerships that make exceptional care possible.

🚑✨ MEET THE CREW: JOSH DICESARE – AEROMED GROUND PARAMEDIC ✨🚑

Meet Josh Dicesare, one of the steady, reliable faces of our Aeromed ground team. He’s not flashy — just solid, positive, and always ready to do the work that keeps our ground operations moving. 💪🚑

When asked why Aeromed, Josh gave a genuine answer that reflects his goal-driven outlook:
“The history, the reputation. When people in our field think of top tier providers who are considered the best in the game they think Aeromed. I have a goal and a dream that I want to achieve and I can’t think of a better place to be but here with Aeromed.” ⭐️

Josh has been a paramedic for eight years and with TGH Aeromed for almost two. His favorite part of the job is simple but meaningful:
“The culture, all crew members and the many opportunities that arise. Getting to interact with patients and learning about their life experiences.” 🤝❤️

Off duty, he’s got a hobby that surprises people:
“I play darts at a semi-competitive level and have been playing for over a decade.” 🎯

Thinking about joining the Aeromed team someday? Josh keeps it real:
“Reach out, talk to some of the crew members to see how great it is here. Come do a ride and see what it’s like to be a part of the team.” 👋🚑

And if he could have any superpower? Josh chose one of the best:
“Teleportation… You could be in Italy for the day then relax in Fiji for some awesome scenery in the evening.” ✈️🇮🇹🌴🇫🇯

Josh brings a dependable, easygoing presence to our ground program — someone who quietly contributes in meaningful ways every day. We appreciate the steadiness, positivity, and genuine care he brings to each shift. 💛

🎉 And a huge congratulations to Josh on passing his FP-C! 🎉
This achievement brings him one step closer to his long-term goal of joining the flight team — and we couldn’t be more proud. 🚁🔥

It’s that time of year again… quarterly airway validation & advanced procedure training! 💪🚁

Today, members of our TGH Aeromed flight team rolled up their sleeves for one of the most important parts of maintaining excellence in critical care transport: hands-on, high-level clinical training. And yes—we take this seriously. VERY seriously.

This quarter’s session did not disappoint.
✨ Lung Lab Demonstration: a phenomenal deep-dive led by Aeromed 4 Chief Flight Paramedic, Cedric, and Flight Paramedic James, giving our clinicians a real-time, tactile look at how their interventions impact lung performance.
✨ Ultrasound-Guided IV & Arterial Line Training: thanks to our expert guest trainers, our team sharpened their precision skills in vascular access—critical when seconds matter and conditions are less than ideal.
✨ Impella Refresher: because when you’re transporting the most complex cardiac patients in the region, staying sharp on advanced devices isn’t optional—it’s essential.
✨ Advanced Procedures Lab: led by our Medical Director, Dr. Stephanie Tershakovec, and one of Clinical Educators, Matt, who pushed our team through high-acuity airway and procedural simulations designed to challenge even the most seasoned clinicians.

🐾 And yes… even our Chief Resiliency Officer, Walker, made an appearance.
In true CRO fashion, she supervised from the comfort of team members’ feet, ensuring stress was low, morale was high, and that all participants received mandatory tail wags between stations. We’re convinced the knowledge retention rate goes up at least 10% when Walker is present.

At Aeromed, we don’t just maintain competency—we elevate it.
These trainings ensure that when we’re called to the sickest of the sick, our crews aren’t just ready… they’re operating at the highest level of critical care transport medicine.

Because excellence in the air starts with investment on the ground.
And our patients deserve nothing less.

🦃💙 Happy Thanksgiving from TGH Aeromed 💛🚁

This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for the privilege of caring for our community — in the air, on the ground, and everywhere in between.

We want to recognize our dedicated flight crews, communications specialists, ground teams, EMS partners, hospital colleagues, and the families who support us. Your commitment, resilience, and compassion make our mission possible every single day.

While many gather at the table today, our teams remain ready to respond when minutes matter, bringing Tampa General Hospital care to the location of the emergency.

From all of us at TGH Aeromed, we thank you for your trust and wish you a safe, meaningful, and very happy Thanksgiving. 💙💛

🚒Let’s talk Traumatic Arrests🚑

💡 Did you know? TGH Aeromed flies trauma codes. 🚁
When minutes matter, our crews bring advanced critical care directly to the patient; whether on a highway or in a field.

On trauma scenes, our teams arrive equipped with powerful life-saving tools, including:
🔹 LUCAS automated CPR device
🔹 Whole Blood for immediate transfusion & TXA
🔹 QinFlow Blood Warmer for rapid, safe warming during massive transfusion
🔹 LifeFlow to quickly infuse blood products or fluids
🔹IV Pumps and Vasoactive medications to support blood pressure

These devices allow us to deliver high-quality resuscitation during the most complex, time-sensitive emergencies.

However, trauma responses aren’t always one-size-fits-all. If the LUCAS cannot be used and high-quality manual CPR cannot be safely performed in flight (ie: patient size), our crews may decide to transport by ground. This ensures they can continue other critical interventions such as:
✨ Advanced airway management (intubation or surgical cricothyrotomy)
✨ Rapid blood product infusion
✨ Medication to manage severe brain swelling
✨ Finger thoracostomies
✨ Pericardiocentesis
…and more.

No matter the method of transport, our top priority is always patient care and crew safety; while delivering the highest level of life-saving treatment possible.

TGH Aeromed: We bring TGH care to the location of the emergency. 💙💛🚁
