Even though we cannot replace the effects of a good night’s sleep, through practicing Yoga Nidra, we can help our body create an internal environment that improves the chances of having a good night’s sleep.
Stages of sleep and Yoga Nidra:
Non-REM 1 - relaxation for physical body, cellular repair and energy revitilization
Non-REM 2 - relaxation for nervous system and mind, time to process events of life
Non - REM 3 - Delta brain waves is experienced, supports healing and supports immune system
REM - dream state where thoughts and emotions are processed, with consistent practice, this state of peace is able to carried into everyday lifeAll Non-REM is the dreamless sleep which is just as vital to health as REM.
