Who remembers that classic song by Chuck D and Flav 'Can't Truss It'?
They WERE right, but not about everything. 🙃

In order to be make the most of the life you have or want, trust of other people will be required along with your discernment.

Do you feel compelled to be in charge in any situation? (even if it's playing out in your mind)

Do you think you have to get it all done by yourself?

Do you discount your own needs/desires?

Do you not trust the support/people who do show up to help you?

Well, if you're answering yes to those questions, you have a believe that you can't trust people and/or situations. I am sure this believe was well earned from the experience of being let down and having trust broken.

Now is the best time to begin to surrender the distrust in favor of love and support. It is possible.

Join me for a healing session this Thursday where we will explore the roots of this and other low-quality beliefs that we can let go in favor of useful beliefs.
See the sign-up link in the comments.

This subject may be touchy....(delicate)

Is life harder than it 'should' be?
Are you a people pleaser?
Have you been told you're passive aggressive?
Do you avoid expressing yourself to maintain the status quo?

Sometimes, we don't feel strong enough to let people down, rile them up, or disappoint people because we fear disapproval.

Behaviors that go along with hiding your real self may look like self-sabotage or procrastination- keeping yourself stuck and playing a role in someone else's play.

What's missing is a deep belief and knowing that you have the right to express yourself authentically.

The opposite of that knowing is hiding the real you.

It doesn't have to be that way.

Join me for a workshop this Thursday, the 21st, where we will take a closer look at this pattern. We'll also have a healing experience intended to begin to let some of that energy go.

See the link in the comment section.

You are stronger than you think and now is your time to make some changes for the better.

Repeat after me- I am loved.
How does that statement feel?
Nourishing?
Feel supported by people and maybe life itself?

When you have the need for being nurtured and validated in your inherent worthiness, you know the statement is the truth.

How could your life be different if you:
-easily accepted support from other
-knew how to prioritize your needs
-truly felt connection with others

I'm hosting a workshop where we will take a closer look at unmet needs, how they impact your life, and then have a beautiful healing experience next Thursday the 21st.

What do you know about core wounds?
Do you see yourself in the statement?
Well, here are some behaviors that go along with this type of wounding:
withdrawing from your own body/other people
being overly intellectual or spiritual
seeking safety in alone time

The need that goes unmet is to feel safe in connection with yourself and others.

Do you feel safe to just exist? What a question...I know.

Join me for a workshop later this month where we will have more information about core wounding (to satisfy your intellect) and a healing experience to move you closer to feeling safer.

🤓 Women,
Black women
Carribean women,
Highly melanated women, and
Some other women were raised to carry responsibility that is unreasonable given that child's age and experience in the world.
The high expectations paired with a desire for acceptance/love, lead that same child to do whatever she can to find success in response to the lunacy.

*Overachieving
*Perfectionism
*Believing you are responsible for everyone else
*(Pathological) Motivation to be seen in a good light
*Over-stressed, unhealthy, anxious, etc.
It's exhausting!

It wasn't until I went away to college, did I learn that other young ladies had different experiences in earlier life that left them seemingly more relaxed about life in general.

And how they maneuvered around their academic standing baffled me. Academia wasn't seen as a do or die situation. Looking back, it didn't have to be.

Anyway, you may or may not recognize yourself in what was described above.
I know about my experiences and the experiences shared with me by other professional women who are waking up to what can now be seen as family dysfunction.

They now want to de-stress, release the need for perfectionism, and be in their authentic energy.

That's where I come. I'm hosting a series of online gatherings where I will show you how to de-stress and relax into the authentic version of yourself so you can enjoy more satisfaction in particular areas of life.

Send me a message if you recognize yourself in this post.

📌Trauma with the lower case 't'📌
This weekend I spoke with two women who recounted their stories about being shamed by their math teachers for not meeting the teachers' expectation. I had my own story.
Decades later, we could all remember, with detail, not only what was said and how it made us feel, but also the lasting (insidious) impact in adulthood.
If you're not already familiar with the lower case 't' concept, here's a little primer:
This term is used to describe the impact of smaller, less overtly distressing events that can still have a significant effect on an individual's well-being. These "little t" traumas can include experiences such as ongoing stress, emotional abuse, or feelings of shame and guilt. While they may not be as immediately obvious as "Big T" traumas like violence or war, they can still cause lasting harm and contribute to challenges when goal setting/self improvement.
Recognizing and addressing these "little t" traumas is an important part of personal growth and healing.
The distinction between "Big T" and "little t" traumas is not about minimizing what happened to you, but rather about understanding the diverse range of events that can impact your well-being.
By acknowledging the significance of "little t" traumas, personal development coaching that includes healing modalities can provide support that addresses the full spectrum of your experiences and promotes whole person healing and growth.
Is this concept new to you?
Can you ID some of your lower case 't'raumas that have been flying under your radar?
