🎄❤️ Merry Christmas from St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital ❤️🎄

Earlier this month, our palliative care patients and their families gathered for a festive holiday celebration and a visit from Santa. The party offered families a beautiful pause in their palliative care journey, and a reminder that love, support and compassion shine brightly here all year long.

Today, as we celebrate Christmas, we send our warmest wishes to every family we’re honored to serve. May your day be filled with peace, hope and joy! 💗✨

🎁🎄Our annual Holiday Shop is a pop-up store where parents and guardians are able to select gifts for children spending the holidays in our hospital, free of charge. With help from our generous supporters and volunteers, we were able to provide presents for more than 150 patient families during this year's event.

Big thanks to our generous donors including Amazon.com's TPA1 Fulfillment Team who provided $20K in toys, games, electronics, gift cards and a monetary donation, KAM Roofing Services, Dunkin' and Aubriana’s Journey for helping us spread joy!

Every toy, every game and every smile is a reminder that even in challenging times, hope and joy shine brightest. Thank you to everyone who helped make this season a little brighter for our families. 💝✨

🎁🎄For more than three decades, our team members have shared the true spirit of the season through our annual Mission Basket program—a heartfelt tradition that provides holiday gifts to families of former patients in need.

What began in 1993 with baskets of food and toys has grown into a a friendly competition to see which department can design the most festive display out of the donated gifts. We’re proud to share that 31 families will enjoy a merrier Christmas this year thanks to our generous and compassionate team members, continuing a legacy that has touched more than 2,300 families since the program began.

It’s more than gifts—it’s hope, love and community. ❤️

“Life is like a game. We always try to beat what’s in our path.”💛

That’s how 10-year-old Emmanuel, an oncology patient at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, described the design on the shoe he created for the LPGA tournament, The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. His inspiring design was worn by Dan Towriss, Group 1001 President and CEO.

Since his cancer diagnosis last year, Emmanuel and his family have been doing exactly that—facing every obstacle with courage. “It was a shock,” his mom, Maria, shared. “But the doctors were optimistic and reassuring. We knew we were in the right place with the right people.”

Before his diagnosis, Emmanuel dreamed of becoming an engineer—he loves LEGOs and building things. Now, his dream is even bigger: to become a doctor and help find a cure for his disease.

The chance to design a shoe and attend the Pro-Am was an unforgettable experience for Emmanuel and his family, a bright moment in their journey. Join us in celebrating Emmanuel’s strength, his family’s resilience, and the incredible care teams who make hope possible.

In June 2024, Carter was just 3 years old when a simple accident at school led to an ER visit followed by a life-changing diagnosis: Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis.

“It was the hardest thing we have ever been through,” his mom, Samantha, shared. “But every single person at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital made us feel seen and hopeful when we were heartbroken.”

Carter finished treatment earlier this year, and today he’s back to playing baseball and golf, and dreaming big about becoming a Blue Angels pilot.

And that’s not all—Carter even designed a shoe for the LPGA tournament, The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. His design was worn by golf legend Annika Sörenstam’s son, Will. ⛳ 👟

💛 Join us in celebrating Carter’s strength, his family’s resilience and the pediatric oncology team who make stories like this possible.

Seventeen years ago, Adelaide and Genevieve entered the world under extraordinary circumstances. After an extremely high-risk pregnancy, fetal surgery and months of bed rest, their mom, Elizabeth, delivered two brave little girls at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital.

What followed was a journey of resilience. Adelaide spent two weeks in the NICU and Genevieve, born with a heart defect, spent the first six weeks of her life in the cardiac ICU, each supported by the incredible care teams at St. Joseph’s.

Fast forward to today: these twins celebrated their unique start in life by designing custom shoes for the LPGA golf tournament, The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. Genevieve’s design was worn by golf legend Annika Sörenstam’s husband, Mike, and Adelaide’s design was worn by Annika’s daughter, Ava.👟⛳

💙 Their art tells a story of hope, strength and gratitude. From tiny fighters to talented designers, Adelaide and Genevieve are proof that miracles happen—and that creativity can bloom from even the toughest beginnings.
