A few months ago, I was asked to offer chair massages for a department at the hospital in a different town.

During one of the sessions, I noticed something seemed off with a clients back. After the session, I suggested he gets it checked out by his primary care physician.

While massage therapists are not allowed to diagnose, we do make suggestions. The client had a bulge in his back, very close to his spine - about the size of a baseball - he had surgery to remove it - a benign cyst!

I’m grateful he got it checked out and all is well! We don’t know what’s going on with our backs so it’s nice to have an extra pair of eyes or in this case - hands.🙌🏼
