Sometimes, living with chronic pain means doing things differently. Not in the sense of avoiding or favoring, but in the approach and perspective.

We’ve learned a pattern of pushing through it, fearing it, and avoiding it on the path of ‘fixing it’ that proves unhelpful in our progress.

Whether yoga is a familiar friend or new way of moving, this short series of classes is a simple introduction of how to live well at the intersection of yoga and pain.

Relevance for movements on the mat, but even more so, ways of being off the mat that truly make a difference in the pain.

In this series are all the things you might expect from a group class: gently moving in and out of postures, breathing practices and supported rest with the addition of pain neuroscience and its relevance for you.

As it turns out, the mind and the nervous system play a big role in how we feel and respond to stress and injury.

This new series at YDF Center begins January 21st at 1:00PM and runs for 3 consecutive Wednesdays.

New Yoga Class in Town! 👀

As the seasons shift, so do our bodies, minds, and needs. That’s why I’ve partnered with The Lucky Gut Collective in Simsbury to create something special: a weekly, drop-in yoga class that welcomes all levels and honors the rhythm of the year.

Designed with the time of year in mind, each class factors in the flavors of the season. Bring your mat (we've got the blocks) and land at LGC after a long day for movement and rest - stay and join for a mug of hot tea (included)! ☕️

📅 TUESDAYS from 5:30-6:30p
📍The Lucky Gut Collective (10 Wilcox St)

I am thrilled to share that I received the Launch Pad Grant from the Women's Business Development Council (WBDC) to fuel my work in the world!

My business has been a labor of love as I left the comforts of corporate work to fully realize and expand the reach to my local community in Hartford County. On the journey, I enlisted the support of the wonderful coaches and mentors at WBDC over the last year in coursework and coaching to help my business grow.

Its women supporting women that support the local community (and beyond) with their talents and passions that makes the difference. If there’s something we could stand to have more of in this world, it’s women building each other up.

The most incredible thing about owning my own health business is that when this world gets more and more dismissive on a dime, and the gap between surviving and thriving grows wider, I can do something about it instantly. I can decide to make my services that much easier to reach and access. This is the work of advancing health equity and it’s what I do.

A grant like this allows me to continue offering equity pricing for both of my services for those not set up to be well in this world, experiencing financial hardship, students, single parents you name it. If there’s a barrier, my doors will be open. The last thing we need to do is continue making all these self-support tools we offer as health professionals harder and harder to reach.

Looking for support and understanding around menopause? Hear from myself and a lifestyle coach on the signs and symptoms of menopause and how a holistic approach can support this transition. We will demystify the role of hormones, including cortisol, and discuss the option of HRT. Stick around to the end as we take a look at menopause through the lens of Ayurveda and support with small daily practices to manage symptoms.

Back with another 3-week Group Yoga Therapeutics Series at YDF! Sundays @ 5-6:15pm on 10/26, 11/2 and 11/9

This class is just as much for the constant, lingering feeling of stress just as much as the ‘sunday scaries’ that surface in anticipation of all that lies in the week ahead.

In this evening, 3-week series, we’ll tap into steadiness with skillful use of props, postures and pranayama. The goal? To equip you with both an in-the-moment experience and a take-home toolbox of asana, pranayama and mudra to apply as you wish.

We’ll hone in on common sites of tension in the body (neck + shoulders, low back and hips) and move knowing nervous system support is truly an inside job.

Tap into the subtle body and find new practices to support yourself. You’ll also find ample, ayurvedic lifestyle tips along the way.
