A DIY essential oil perfume gives you options for personal scents you'll be remembered for, without the scary ingredients.

Before you begin, let's dive into the aromatic "notes" of the essential oil blends that will make up your perfume. Typically, you'll smell the quick-evaporating top notes first, followed a moment later by the middle notes—the perfume's heart. Finally, you'll catch the base notes, complementing the top and middle notes.
Now let’s make some essential oil perfume!

First, begin with a glass roll-on* bottle. You can reuse an empty essential oil bottle or any glass roll-on bottle.

Traditionally, top notes make up 30 percent of the perfume blend, heart notes make up 50 percent, and base notes make up 20 percent. For a 10 ml glass bottle, start with about 40 total drops, then add more as desired. Combine these oils in the glass bottle and top off with a carrier oil such as vegetable or olive oil.

Don't worry about being exact! Play around with the ratios until you find a blend that’s pleasant to you.

You’re ready! Go turn heads and make an impact with your signature scent!

Keep in mind that some oils, like citrus oils, are highly photosensitive, so cover up after application or avoid direct sunlight for 48 hours.
