Sometimes what looks like “overthinking” is actually avoidance in disguise.
You replay the conversation.
Analyze every possibility.
Research for hours.
Wait for the “perfect” moment.
Convince yourself you need more certainty first.
But underneath it all, you may be avoiding:
discomfort
rejection
failure
vulnerability
making the wrong choice
Overthinking can feel productive because your mind stays busy.
But healing often starts when we gently ask:
“Am I processing this… or postponing it?”
You do not need absolute certainty to take a small step forward.
