Prior to accepting a position, it is essential to ask questions and pay attention to the facility's operations during orientation. Be vigilant ✅. It is truly disheartening that some nursing facilities and hospitals are permitted to operate with inadequate staffing, often expecting one CNA to care for 10-15 or even 20 patients, with insufficient lift equipment. CNAs, in particular, must take steps to protect themselves, such as purchasing liability insurance to cover incidents. It is advisable to make liability insurance a standard practice, regardless of the profession.
