NAMI Westchester was proud to have our Executive Director Marie Considine, along with board members Julie LeClair Neches and Tara Fishler, and member Jennie Brotman, head to Albany for this year’s Advocacy Day alongside NAMI affiliates from across New York State. 🏛️💙

We had the privilege of hearing from , Chair of the NYS Assembly Committee on Mental Health; , Chair of the Senate Alcohol and Substance Use Committee; ; and Dr. Ann Marie T. Sullivan, Commissioner of the . Each speaker highlighted the importance of strong policy leadership, collaboration, and community engagement in advancing and strengthening New York’s mental health system.

Our Westchester affiliate also had the opportunity to meet with , , and to advocate for stronger mental health resources and support for our communities. 📣

A special thank you to everyone who joined us this past Wednesday and for supporting the importance of mental health in our community. We are so grateful to the incredible artists who shared their work and voices.

Thank you to for hosting us and creating such a welcoming space for connection, creativity, and conversation.

During the evening, we also launched happening May 16 at Ridge Road Park and Chalk the Walk, Let’s Talk, an exciting community initiative connected to this year’s walk.

Registration Open for our Spring Family-To-Family Sessions

NAMI Family-to-Family is an 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people living with mental health conditions.

An evidenced-based program means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition.

Family-to-Family is taught by NAMI-trained family members who share their experiences, and includes presentations, discussions and interactive exercises.
