Oh, how you taught me to love this world as Vincent did in his paintings, and oh, how wrong they were.

You were more than meant for this world, and I’m so grateful that you taught me to see that beauty in every hidden corner.

Seventeen years ago today was the last time we had you here, but I’m so blessed to feel your presence every day in everything that I do.

Thank you mom for teaching me how to be an artist of the soul and for showing me how to see the poetry in everything. ❤️❤️❤️

As a preemie, it was pretty touch and go getting here, so on this day, I’m super grateful to my mom and dad and superhero of a doctor.

And most of all, I’m grateful that even years later, I still take time to appreciate the small things, like picking fake JC Penny apples. Thanks for all the birthday wishes! 😉

I couldn’t be prouder and happier to receive this rejection!⬇️

It’s rare for a literary journal of this caliber to comment no less compliment a poet who they don’t accept. And as such a fan of the Missouri Review, it means even more to me. 🫢

To hear them say my poems had ‘resonant lyricism,’ well, that just made this writer very happy and encouraged!

Ironic though it may seem, this rejection made my day. 😎

Now, I have to keep writing to get one accepted some day! 😉
