BASE Training and Physical Therapy was founded in 2014 by Dr. Sung Kim, DPT and Dr. Thomas Lin, DPT. BASE Training and Physical Therapy believes in the importance of combining Balance, Agility, Strength, and Endurance (BASE) to form a solid foundation for our patients and clients to live a healthy, active, and pain-free lifestyle. At BASE Training and Physical Therapy, we believe in utilizing a personalized and hands on approach when treating our patient’s pain or injury. We choose to evaluate how the body moves as a whole, rather than focusing only on the specific areas of dysfunction. We believe that this whole body approach will lead to faster recovery times, and ensure injury prevention in the future. Can you believe we’ve already reached the last Friday of Physical Therapy month? We can’t either 😭 Physical therapy month may be coming to a close but the good news is that physical therapy services are all year-round 🥳

Last but not least, our Featured Fridays is featuring the newest addition to our team, Dr. Cate McPherson PT, DPT, OCS 🧘🏼‍♀️

Fun fact: Before Cate joined our team here at BASE, she gained her pilates certification and instructed classes in Colorado!

- In short, define what/how physical therapy is important to you and your patients.

I love being a physical therapist because I have the ability to teach patients how movement can act as medicine. Being in pain or experiencing an injury can be scary; I think as a physical therapist I help people understand how resilient and strong their bodies and brains really are.

- What do you like to enjoy doing outside of practicing?

I enjoy distance running, hiking, yoga, and Pilates. I love getting to spend time with my two kids, husband and goldendoodle.

- What is your favorite karaoke song?

“Just Dance” Lady Gaga… but I’m terrified of singing in front of other people

- If you were to be best friends with a fictional character, who would it be?

Hey BASE fam! It’s finally Friday, so you know what that means... We’re back with another “Featured Friday” to celebrate Physical Therapy month 🗣️

This week we are featuring the one and only Dr. Frayne Yneco PT, DPT 💪🏽

- In short, define what/how physical therapy is important to you and your patients.

I enjoy working with my patients to help them achieve their personal goals. I strive to use my knowledge and skills as a physical therapist to instill confidence in everyone I work with, allowing them to perform at their highest potential.

- What do you like to enjoy doing outside of practicing?

I enjoy hanging out with my fiance, family, friends, and pets. I also enjoy playing sports and rating iced vanilla lattes at different cafes!

- What is your favorite karaoke song?

This week, we feature Dr. Mike Janjigian, PT, DPT, OCS 🥳Fun fact: OCS stands for orthopedic clinical specialist 🦴

- In short, define what/how physical therapy is important to you and your patients.

Physical therapy played a major role in my life while rehabbing through injuries playing soccer. I also find a lot of joy helping other people. It’s the best feeling to see patients feel better and be able to get back to their goals.

- What do you like to enjoy doing outside of practicing?

I enjoy playing sports, hiking, staying active, and hanging out with my girlfriend and little french bulldog!

- What is your favorite karaoke song?

Happy Physical Therapy Month! 🎉 To celebrate this month, we will be highlighting our wonderful physical therapists here at the clinic on “Featured Fridays”.

To kick us off, today we are featuring founder and owner: Dr. Sung Kim, PT, DPT 👏🏼

- In short, define what/how physical therapy is important to you and your patients.

Medicine/surgery can give you the quantity of life, but physical therapy gives you the ability to enjoy the quality of life. I’ve always enjoyed being able to help patients get back to playing golf or pickleball or simply just being able to play with their grandchildren.

- What do you like to enjoy doing outside of practicing?

I enjoy spending time with my wife, son and dog at home. I like being outdoors - taking our dog Cody for a walk, gardening, or even just cleaning and organizing the garage.

- What is your favorite karaoke song?

Hotel California by the Eagles

- If you were to be best friends with a fictional character, who would it be?

I think Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and I would get along great! I appreciate his sarcastic sense of humor.
