Imagine that, right?? Treating people with respect, dignity, compassion, and grace……but that takes those who are strong enough to admit their early childhood experiences were maladaptive—.this requires insight, and then to do the work of healing one’s inner child. Unfortunately, many are incapable, permanently stunted, and project their demons onto innocent others. Be aware of how people treat you, repeatedly, the cycling. It doesn’t take long to notice the bottoming out, the quick sand self-effacement of the forever tormented.

Nothing says community like the rabbi showing up with mishloach manot and plenty of treats to fuel the future clinicians of Touro University California–Los Angeles. Between lectures, exams, and learning how to care for patients, moments like this remind us that medicine is also about joy, tradition, and taking care of each other.

As an undergrad at UCLA, I took every upper division class the school had in Neuroscience—the school did not yet have a Neuro major at that time (l was a Bio major), but i wrote a paper on Neuroplasticity and became fascinated by the human mind. I also worked in the lab of Dr. Arnold Schiebel, the director of The UCLA Brain Research Institute in the Neuropsychiatric Institute at the time (a campus rockstar!) 🤘🧐👏

Our next clinical callback for our Touro Clinical year PA students will focus on Schizoaffective disorder, medications to treat the side effects ( eg tardive dyskinesia) of anti-psychotic medications, and mental health/PTSD management. I’m excited!

Since I was a little girl, I’ve admired Jodie tremendously. Her talent is beyond, because her truth is ON POINTE—in her craft and in her authenticity. We need more fearless women to find themselves, come together, and RISE!!! ‼️⬆️‼️

“You have changed.”

No, I healed.
I learned what love is and what it is not.
I grew.
I stopped accepting confusion as affection.
I set boundaries without guilt.
I stopped settling for half love.
I chose peace over chaos.
I walked away when I had to.
I forgave for my own freedom.
I remembered my worth.
I raised my standards quietly.
I put myself first with respect.
I love myself better now.
I am softer but stronger.
I do not chase. I attract what aligns.

So yes, I look different to you. Because I am no longer the version of me that accepted less. I did not change. I evolved into the woman who finally knows her value.💙

Our soon to be Seniors (Class of 2027) entering their Clinical Year on Jan 5th, the same day as the new Class of 2028 arrives on campus for Day 1 of Orientation. Over 2000 applications were submitted—fierce competition and stellar candidates!! So these, now seasoned ones, right here, will become mentors, and so the cycle of “paying it forward” goes!
