We serve those in need with dignity, support, and independence. Welcome to the official page of Rivers of Hope!
We are proud partners with the Veteran Affairs Community Care Network, providing compassionate, personalized home healthcare, including AFC, GAFC, and Private Nursing. At Rivers of Hope, we are dedicated to enhancing community life for our members and their families through exceptional home healthcare solutions. We specialize in personalized care programs, including Home Healthcare, Veteran Care, Adult Family Care (AFC), and Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC), Private Care, each designed to support the unique needs of our clients in the comfort of their homes or in loving, family-like settings. Our Adult Family/Foster Care programs provide care in secure private residences, offering support for the elderly, adults, and adolescents with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Many of our AFC clients are lovingly cared for by a parent, child, or other family members who qualify as caregivers. For our veterans, we deliver specialized care that honors their service and addresses their specific health challenges. Financial and Health Support:
As a MassHealth-funded program, our AFC provides caregivers with a tax-free daily stipend, ensuring financial relief while they provide critical care. Our commitment extends beyond mere assistance—our staff becomes an extension of your family. Each client and caregiver benefits from a dedicated nurse and care manager, ensuring regular visits and consistent support. Our multidisciplinary team is always on hand to provide medical training, answer health questions, and help navigate the complexities of living with disabilities. Extensive Services and Support:
We offer a broad range of services to ensure comprehensive care and support:
Veteran care programs are tailored to the unique needs of our veterans. Personal care services that respect the dignity and independence of each client. Specialized programs for individuals with developmental delays. Access to mental health counselors and support services. Engagement and Respect:

Care should feel personal.
Care should feel respectful.
Care should feel like family.
A severe cold wave is approaching much of the country, coupled with a heavy winter storm. We want to make sure you stay safe and that your property is protected during the upcoming extreme temperatures.
BE SAFE
Stay indoors during severe weather to avoid frostbite, hypothermia, or accidents caused by icy conditions. Limit travel, and if driving is necessary, check road conditions and alerts at National Weather Service. Protect yourself from cold by wearing layered clothing, hats, and gloves to retain heat and prevent exposure. Use heating devices safely, ensuring proper ventilation to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. Prevention tips can be found at CDC Winter Safety.
GET HELP
Report power outages to your utility company and seek updates on restoration timelines. Document any storm-related damage for insurance claims using World's claims page. Access recovery resources offered by local and federal programs, including FEMA Winter Storm Assistance.
Please take immediate action to prevent weather-related damage.
Check Heating Oil Levels: Ensure your tank levels are adequate during the extreme weather.
As temperatures fall below freezing:
Keep the Heat On: Maintain your thermostat at a minimum temperature of 65°F, even if you will be away.
Staying proactive during this extreme cold weather event can prevent damage and keep your home safe.

Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC) provides personal care in a community setting — helping adults stay engaged, supported, and independent.

Today, we honor Dr. King’s legacy of compassion, service, and commitment to caring for others. We encourage our community to reflect on how kindness and unity can continue to guide the work we do every day.
