URGENT! Please read and share. I am morally opposed to the death penalty because I do not believe we as individuals or a society are sufficiently morally advanced to be able to execute someone. Our legal system is imperfect and capital cases are so complex and convoluted that death row inmates often remain there for decades before ex*****on. The cost of housing death row inmates greatly exceeds that of maintaining someone for life with parole, which I feel is a better sentence for heinous crimes. Let such individuals live without their freedome and with their remorse as the case may be. Reversals of death row convictions should make us very hesitant to take a life, even legally. This case illustrates much that is wrong with the system.

Well, that killed a couple of irretrievable hours of my life. I tried to open a new FB account for my book as someone suggested. I followed the instructions for opening a new account, or so I thought, but I ended up with two accounts under my name but with two different email addresses and passwords. I soon received notifications from friends that my account was hacked because they saw this new account with my name on it. Long story short, after hours spent setting this up, I spent additional time deleting it. So, my regular FB account remains and is, as far as anyone can know this, unhacked. Life is just to damn complicated. I am going outside to work in the yard for a while to clear my head and decompress.

Dear Facebook friends,
Some of you may have noticed that a new FB account is sending out friend requests under my name. Some have reported this as a possible hack or illegitimate. This is a legitimate account. I have set up a new FB account to promote my book, The Making of a Plastic Surgeon- Two Years in the Crucible Learning the Art and science. I followed the directions to do this and ended up with two account under my name- Richard Bosshardt, but with different email address, one my aol.com and the other a gmail.com account. Nothing is as easy as it seems. Sigh.....
If anyone has any suggestions for how to modify the new account to reflect that it is for my book and not just another account for me personally, I would love to hear them.

I was recently lured into reading the first of a series of books by Douglas Pratt. Diamond Reef introduces the character of Chase Gordon, an ex-marine who lives on a sailboat, tends bar, and solves mysteries. The Facebook ad that caught my eye stated that this series would satisfy fans of the books by John D. MacDonald, featuring boat bum cm "salvage expert" Travis McGee, who recovers lost items in exchange for half their value. The stories are unique and I have never seen anything like them. They are eminently readable even today. My love for this series is shown by the fact that I have read everyone of the books multiple times and my son's name is Travis. I finished Diamond Reef and the verdict is: don't waste your time. Comparing Pratt's writing to that of MacDonald is comparing a talented high schooler to a seasoned professional. The writing, dialogue, character development, plot development, etc. are sophomoric. I will not be reading any more of them. Chase Gordon is the next Travis McGee? In your dreams. You have been warned.........
