Exciting News! Our Tawas Area Ice Rink and Whittemore Chamber of Commerce Drop Sites are now open for business!

Please follow signage and labeling when recycling. No illegal dumping allowed and there is 24/7 video monitoring.

Please note that the Oscoda Area Schools site is NOT open at this time as we are still waiting on additional bins.

Please be patient with us as we implement this program. We are new to this business and we are still learning. Pickup and Hauling may need to be adjusted as bins fill. We have no idea what our demand will be. Fortunately, we are partnering with a Northeast Michigan Materials Management Authority which enables pickup and hauling to be flexible.

This program has been in the works for many years now and is the result of much hard work of many people. A special thanks to our partners, Tawas Area Ice Rink, Whittemore Chamber of Commerce, Oscoda Area Schools, Northeast Michigan Materials Management Authority, Iosco County staff, RRS, especially Elisa Seltzer and Bridgette Pollaski, and EGLE, especially Tracey Tomaszewski and DJ Droste.

This project was the idea of Oscoda Area School students with the help of their superintendent, who then brought in the County and other recycling champions and is now a reality!
