With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Peter P. Kanton Jr., of Moosic, who passed away on Friday, January 9, at Allied Hospice. A devout Catholic, dedicated community servant, and loving father and grandfather, Peter found his greatest joy in his family—especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, MaryCarol, and grandson, Dillon.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4–6 p.m. at Semian Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Basilica. Peter will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. 💙

Carol Olekszulin, 77, of South Abington Township, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and cherished friend, Carol will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, quick wit, and joyful laugh. She was the heart of her family and a faithful member of St. George’s Orthodox Church.

We announce the passing of Harold “Harry” Joseph Browne, of Taylor, who passed away on Tuesday, January 6.

Harry was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.

Today, we remember and celebrate the life of Marie Mashurak — a woman whose kindness and compassion touched everyone she met. 💛

Marie’s warmth and generosity were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a gift for making others feel loved and valued — whether through a home-cooked meal, a helping hand, or a heartfelt conversation. Her lessons in faith, forgiveness, and family have left an everlasting mark on those she cherished most.

She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church, Old Forge, and served for many years as president of the American Legion Post 306, Taylor Ladies Auxiliary, earning numerous ribbons and medals for her community involvement. When her sons were younger, she enjoyed being a den leader for scouting.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Lillian.

Lillian was the heart of our family — a source of unwavering love, strength, and wisdom. Her kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She lived a life full of grace, generosity, and quiet courage, and her memory will remain a guiding light in our lives.
While we grieve deeply, we also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind — a family rooted in love, laughter, and resilience, shaped by her example.

Friends and family will gather to pay their final respects and celebrate Lillian’s enduring spirit, on Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. George’s Orthodox Church, 743 S. Keyser Ave. Taylor, to be celebrated by the Very Rev. Mark Leasure. Burial prayers and interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Everyone is kindly asked to process directly to the church, on Thursday morning.
