May is Maternal Mental Health Month. As perinatal professionals though, every month is maternal mental health month. May gives us an opportunity to bring even more awareness to the LEADING COMPLICATION of the perinatal period and the leading cause of MATERNAL DEATH.

1 in 5 mothers suffer from a Perinatal Mood or Anxiety Disorder (PMAD). As doulas and educators we are in the front lines to help educate and support the parents and families who are suffering. Because they are not alone and with treatment, they can get better.
