Today on World Cancer Day, we stand together with millions around the globe to raise awareness, share hope, and take action in the fight against cancer.

In the United States this year, about 2,114,850 new cancer cases are projected; nearly 5,800 diagnoses every single day. These numbers remind us of the scale of this disease and the urgent need for prevention, early detection, and equitable care.

There is progress worth celebrating: thanks to earlier detection, better treatments, and prevention efforts, the cancer death rate has dropped by about 34% since 1991, and the 5-year survival rate across all cancers has reached historic highs.

"Everyone told me knee replacement would be unbearable - but that wasn't my experience at all."
