It is called a "spectrum" because individuals with ASD can present with varying degrees of symptoms, abilities, and support needs, ranging from mild to severe. People with ASD may have unique strengths, such as advanced memory or attention to detail, alongside challenges in social communication and behavior.

National Nutrition Month® focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.

Here are some tips for nutrition:
Choose healthful foods from all food groups.
Alternate your food choices for a variety of nutrients.
Avoid fad diets that promote unnecessary restrictions.
Learn cooking and meal preparation skills that work with the resources you have.
Locate community resources such as SNAP, WIC and local food banks.
Advocate for nutrition policies that serve you, your family and community.
Reduce the risk of foodborne illness with home food safety.
Plan in advance to avoid mealtime stress.
Include physical activity in ways that work for you.

• Staying connected with your doctor, whether in-person or using telehealth via phone or computer, can help you maintain your kidney health
Manage blood pressure and monitor blood glucose levels.
