UPDATE: Dr said everything looks good but he wants the current restrictions to remain in place and for me to do range of motion exercises until my next appointment the beginning of October. So I guess I'm still out until then. Blah! I'm no good at sitting still with nothing to do.
HELLO EVERYONE!!! Just thought since I was getting phone calls for cakes for this weekend, I would give an update on my surgery recovery process.
Surgery went well on August 26th!!!! I will say so far this is the easiest surgery I have ever had (including C-sections and a hysterectomy...sorry if TMI but those surgeries were brutal.!!!) Voice is still a little hoarse and I get occasional muscle spasms in my L shoulder (but they say that is normal with 3 level cervical neck fusions), but I can eat almost completely normally now (just a little bit of inflammation in my throat still). On the good side, I have lost 6+ pounds in 10 days!!!! I'll take it! My off balance is for the most part GONE (Woohoo!!!!!) unless I try to turn and move real fast at the same time so it will take some retraining to regain my equilibrium completely. I am still limited to no more than 5 lbs of lifting, pulling, pushing, bending and no chin to chest or looking down. Do you know how hard that is not to do???? Like everything you do involves something in that restriction!!!
Well my follow up appointment is tomorrow, so I will have updated restrictions tomorrow I assume. I will update this post then.
Well, back to being EXTREMELY BORED!!! I can sit about 20 minutes at the computer before my neck says NOPE, QUIT. And living in the country means no cable, so local antennae only. Blah. Luckily, I'm not much for watching TV. Almost time to take one of my daily walks around the property.
