Thanks for the invite! Several of our colleagues attended the Grain & Protein Technologies Employee Health Fair and connected with more than 500 employees. This was a great opportunity to provide blood pressure checks, smoking cessation resources, grip strength assessments and balance tests.

Back 2 School Health & Resource Fair brings the community together. More than 175 families came out to take part in a day packed with support and resources. From backpacks loaded with school supplies to free haircuts and access to valuable community services, there was something for everyone. A huge thank you goes out to all the community partners, volunteers and supporters who gave their time, energy and resources to make the day so impactful. Events like this are a powerful reminder of what makes our community so special.

Mental health wellness kits will be available to check out at the Taylorville Public Library as part of a regional community health initiative through Memorial Health. The kits are designed for ages 3 through adult and include books, worksheets, coloring pages, resource lists & more.

Congrats to Alivia Kent and Aulona Letniku, recent Taylorville High School grads, who each received a $2,500 Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarship. Kent will use her scholarship as she pursues a nursing degree from ISU in Normal, while Letniku will use her scholarship as she works towards a biological sciences degree from DePaul University in Chicago. The late Dr. Ferry desired scholarship recipients to pursue a healthcare career.

Congrats to Abigail Erlenbush, a Taylorville High School grad, who received a $1,000 John H. Butterfield Agriscience and Nutrition Scholarship toward her pursuit of a degree in animal science and ag communications at ISU in Normal. The late Mr. Butterfield had a lifetime interest in soil science and plant nutrition. His scholarship is awarded to students preparing for a degree in nutrition or ag-related sciences.

Congrats to Kallie Havera, a Taylorville High School grad, who received a $1,000 Carolyn M. Butterfield Trust Nursing Scholarship toward her pursuit of a nursing degree at SIU Edwardsville. The late Mrs. Butterfield hoped these annual scholarships would help decrease the nursing shortage and lead recipients to a healthcare career in Christian County and TMH.
