Effective March 11, temporary visitor restrictions are lifted at all Memorial Health hospital locations. These restrictions are no longer necessary because respiratory illness activity has been low statewide for several weeks, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. We have also seen a significant drop in hospitalization due to respiratory illness.

With the lifting of these restrictions, the following changes go into effect:
- More than two visitors are now permitted in patient rooms.
- Visitors younger than 18 are now permitted in patient rooms when appropriate.

Thank you to Emily Legner with Memorial Behavioral Health for bringing this important training directly to our local schools! Trauma-informed care makes a real difference in how educators and staff support students every day. A great example of Memorial Behavioral Health and our community working together!

Emily Legner, a director with Memorial Behavioral Health, recently presented Trauma-Informed Care training to Taylorville CUSD #3 staff. This training helps professionals shift their mindset from "What's wrong with you?" to "What happened to you?" and focuses on safety, trust & healing. Participants learned about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), how trauma affects brain & behavior plus practical strategies for creating supportive environments.
