Happy Friday!!! Let’s talk about hypertension!!!

🤔 What is hypertension? Hypertension is an elevation of your blood pressure!

👀 How do you know if you are experiencing hypertension? Hypertension is diagnosed by medical professionals by measuring your blood pressure.

😨 Untreated hypertension can lead to several other health problems such as: kidney disease, pregnancy-related complications, stroke, dementia, vision loss, heart disease and peripheral artery disease.

🤩 The good news is that you can take preventative measures against hypertension by doing some of the following:

- Healthy diet: diets that are rich in potassium, fiber, protein and lower in salt and saturated fats! 🧂🥗🍎🥩

- Healthy weight: in addition to healthy diets, individuals should maintain a healthy weight. Getting regular physical activity can assist with this! 💪

- Stop smoking and reduce alcohol consumption! 🚫

⏳For the remainder of the summer, our clinic will be open on Saturdays from 8-12; however, the pharmacy will remain open from 8-2.
