Yesterday we loaded up the bus and took a trip to Southwest Virginia Community College to watch the Richlands High School Drama Team perform W***y Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, and neither could the performance! Our residents had such a wonderful time enjoying the show and cheering on such a talented group of young performers. It was really a sweet treat.

🥚 **“Good Egg or Bad Egg?”… the debate is ON!** 🥚
Today in our *Charlie and the Chocolate Factory* adventure, things got a little egg-stra interesting
Our residents took part in a “Good Egg, Bad Egg” taste test challenge, whipping up:
✨ A classic *traditional deviled egg*
✨ A bold and tasty *breakfast deviled egg*
Then came the big decision… which one deserved the title of **GOOD EGG** and which one was the **BAD EGG**?!
🥇 **Assisted Living** said you can’t beat a classic — *traditional deviled egg* for the win!
🥇 **Willows Grove** switched things up and chose the *breakfast deviled egg* as their favorite!
Looks like W***y Wonka himself would be proud of this delicious debate

A Sweet Celebration at Dogwood Crossing!
Today we celebrated our monthly birthday party with a fun W***y Wonka & the Chocolate Factory theme! Our residents had a blast playing a larger-than-life game where they rolled a HUGE die and raced to the finish line to win the golden ticket! Along the way, they faced some silly obstacles like getting “stuck in taffy – lose a turn” or getting a little help from an Oompa Loompa (move back 2 spaces! 😄).

Of course, no birthday party is complete without cake! A big THANK YOU to MSA Home Health & Hospice for providing the delicious cake and for helping us make this celebration extra special. We truly appreciate your continued support!

Today was a great day at Dogwood Crossing Senior Living & Memory Care! Our residents and staff celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in the best way with delicious food, lots of laughs, and a little bit of luck of the Irish! Our festive menu gave everyone something to enjoy, with choices like Reuben sliders, lucky clover salad, and green bean almondine or a green shammy wrap, shamrock pasta salad, and pot o’ gold wedges. And of course, we couldn’t forget the leprechaun fruit salad and our refreshing “Luck of the Irish” lemon-lime soda limeade! The fun didn’t stop there! Staff tested their luck with a “Kiss me Im Irish” game featuring jars of Hershey Kisses. Congratulations to Kelly and Jamie for being the closest guesses and taking home the prizes! We wrapped up the celebration with a St. Patrick’s Day social filled with mint chocolate chip ice cream, cookies, and some fun trivia—with prizes, of course!
Days like today remind us just how lucky we are to be part of such a wonderful community!

Today our residents painted salt and pepper shakers, added twine, and turned them into beautiful little flower arrangements. Each one turned out unique and full of personality!
A big thank you to Caris Hospice for helping with this fun activity and spending time with our residents. We truly appreciate your kindness and support!

One of today’s activities was Wheel of Fortune! Residents spun the wheel and guessed letters while working to solve each puzzle. It was a great way to exercise our minds and enjoy some friendly competition.

Today we got creative and made spring centerpieces for our dining room tables! We used flowers, ice cream cones, colorful sprinkles, and glass holders to make something fun and cheerful for everyone to enjoy.

The sunshine brought everyone outside today! Our residents had a wonderful time relaxing and visiting on the patio.

Last Friday our residents dug in and planted tomato and pepper seeds. Just one week later we already have sprouts!

🌵🎉 **Our “Scenic Trip” turned into a Fiesta Surprise!** 🎉🌵

What our residents didn’t know was that their scenic trip had a fun twist! When they stepped onto the bus, they were greeted with a full Mexican-themed fiesta. The bus was decorated, sombreros were passed out, and the celebration began the moment they walked out the door.

A special thank you to MSA Home Health for serving delicious mango and lime margaritas as residents boarded the bus—and for continuing the fun back at the facility by surprising our staff with margaritas too! 🍹

We then enjoyed a wonderful trip to a local Mexican restaurant where residents shared laughs, great food, and lots of smiles.

We would also like to thank Odyssey Therapy Group for helping make this activity possible and supporting our residents in creating such joyful memories.

It was truly a day full of surprises, laughter, and fiesta fun! ❤️

Today we celebrated our monthly birthday party with a winter wonderland twist!

Residents bundled up (at least in spirit) and competed in our fast-paced “Snowball Scoop Showdown!” Two players at a time had one minute to scoop as many “snowballs” as they could into their bowls. The competition was fierce and the laughter was even louder!
Our Snowball Queens were crowned:
• Assisted Living Champion – Peggy
• Willows Grove Champion – Billie
They scooped their way to victory!
We wrapped up the celebration with delicious cupcakes and pink lemonade while honoring all of our February birthdays.
There’s nothing better than fun, friendly competition and celebrating together! As always thank you so much MSA Home Health for helping sponsor and facilitate the monthly birthday party.

Today at Willows Grove, we brought out our inner artists!
Residents worked on a fun stitching activity using pre-cut shapes made from sturdy material. We punched holes around the edges, threaded oversized plastic needles with yarn, and let creativity take over. Some residents carefully outlined their shapes, while others filled the entire inside with colorful stitches — almost like a beginner’s needlepoint project!
This simple activity does so much more than create something beautiful. It helps:
Strengthen focus and concentration
Improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
Maintain dexterity and hand strength
Encourage creativity and self-expression
