We had a wonderful time celebrating our monthly birthday party today! Residents enjoyed cake and a fun game of Wheel of Fortune. Thank you MSA Home Health & Hospice for helping us celebrate!

Celebrating special moments and sweet family time this week at our community. We loved sharing in the joy of an 88th birthday surrounded by loved ones. Birthdays are even brighter when family can join the celebration!

Yesterday we brought back a classic and played “Card Sharks” just like the hit game show from the 70s & 80s, and it was an absolute hit! They loved it so much that when we had a last-minute cancellation this morning, our residents practically begged to play again so of course we did! There’s nothing better than seeing so much excitement, laughter, and friendly competition. Safe to say, “Card Sharks” has officially become a new favorite!

We brought a little bit of nature indoors. Our residents enjoyed creating beautiful bookmarks using dried flowers! Each person carefully arranged their flowers on cardstock, then we sealed their designs with the laminator to make keepsakes they can use and cherish. Every bookmark turned out unique just like the hands that made them.

We had a blast with our *Fancy Feet Challenge*! Two participants, one hula hoop, a bunch of little balls, and a box on the floor… the catch? They could only use their FEET!
It was a race to see who could get all the balls into the box first—no hands allowed! Let’s just say there were some seriously impressive foot skills! Great job to our participants.

We’ve been soaking up these beautiful spring days! Our residents have truly enjoyed getting outside, breathing in the fresh air, and taking in the sunshine. On one especially lovely day, we even moved lunch outdoors—good food always tastes better with a view!

Who says you need fancy equipment to have fun?

Today our residents got creative and turned pool noodles and glove boxes into their very own table air hockey game—and let me tell you, the competition was REAL! 😄

We had such a FUN and memorable April Fools’ Day with our residents today! 😄
At lunchtime, we started things off with a little harmless prank by placing a notice on the tables saying that due to new “gambling regulations,” bingo would no longer be allowed and all prizes from the week had to be returned.
Let’s just say… we got a few reactions! 😂 One sweet resident even tried to return her popcorn, another called a family member to check on the “new law,” and a few were NOT too happy—until we let them in on the joke! Once they realized it was April Fools’, the laughter started and didn’t stop.
We kept the fun going into the evening with a “Tax Preparation Class”… or so they thought! Instead, they were treated to some very creative (and sneaky!) snacks—like “bacon and eggs” and ci******es in a nasty ashtray made from sweets, and some silly sandwiches that had everyone laughing. Staff joined in too, sharing jokes and enjoying the fun right along with our residents.
Moments like these are what it’s all about.

Yesterday on Willow’s Grove, our residents enjoyed a relaxing weaving activity! Weaving isn’t just fun it’s great for seniors’ mental and physical well-being. Activities like this help improve fine motor skills, stimulate creativity, and provide a sense of accomplishment and focus. We loved seeing everyone’s concentration as they created beautiful woven pieces.

Yesterday we loaded up the bus and took a trip to Southwest Virginia Community College to watch the Richlands High School Drama Team perform W***y Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, and neither could the performance! Our residents had such a wonderful time enjoying the show and cheering on such a talented group of young performers. It was really a sweet treat.
