🚨 Race Against Time: Sponsor the Cure

Sawyer (13) and Wesley (11), two incredible brothers from Tea, SD, are bravely battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy—a rare and progressive muscle-wasting disease that affects 1 in 3,500 boys and is universally fatal. Most children with Duchenne lose mobility by age 12 and rarely live beyond theuaebir 20s.

💙 Why it Matters
A life-saving CRISPR therapy tailored to their unique mutation is within reach—but we’re racing against time, and Sawyer and Wesley can’t wait. To help fund the manufacturing of this treatment, we’re launching the Bryan Boys 5K on September 27 and hosting the Bryan Boys Benefit Night on October 11, as we rally to raise the $800,000 needed.

JeanAnn (Lyon) and Beau Bryan’s two sweet boys, Sawyer and Wesley, have been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy—a rare and fatal disease. But there is hope.

For the past five years, their family has partnered with the Cure Rare Disease Foundation, where scientists have been working tirelessly to develop a custom treatment just for the boys. That treatment is now nearly ready—and it may be their only chance.

The Bryan family and the foundation are in a critical phase of fundraising to bring this life-saving medicine to Sawyer and Wesley. Any support, prayers, or shares help.

Together, our growing community is turning hope into action. Your support lights the way forward, and we’re honored and forever grateful to have you with us on this journey.

💙Who Are We?
We are The Bryans- Beau, JeanAnn, Sawyer (13) & Wesley (10) and we have called Tea, SD our home for the last 17 years. In 2019 both of our boys were diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a fatal muscle-wasting disease.

💔What is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)?
DMD is the most common, fatal genetic disorder diagnosed in childhood affecting 1 in every 3,500 male births and is 100% fatal. Boys with DMD lose muscle throughout their life, typically lose the ability to walk around age 10, and do not survive their mid-twenties. Rate of progression varies for each individual.

🚫Is There A Cure?
With over 3,000 possible separate mutations in the dystrophin gene there is no cure-all. Our boys have an ultra-rare duplication within their gene, interrupting their body’s ability to produce the protein needed to maintain and support healthy muscle. The best hope for our boys is to receive a treatment via a therapy specifically designed for their mutation.

🧬Who Is Cure Rare Disease (CRD)?
CRD is a non-profit biotech company based out of Woodbridge, CT that is making history by accelerating the pathway to life-saving gene therapies for people with rare neuromuscular diseases, who need them now. CRD and its collaborators are harnessing CRISPR technology to edit and correct mutated DNA to restore proper function to the dystrophin gene.

🧪CRD and the Bryan Boys
Since 2020, CRD has been developing a treatment specifically for Sawyer and Wesley. A team of scientists have created a therapeutic for their mutation that is proving to be successful in the lab, and manufacturing is just around the corner! They’ll be among the first in the world to receive this breakthrough therapy, helping pave the way for countless others battling rare diseases who have no other options.

Producing and delivering this life-saving therapy costs around $2.2 million. Your support is crucial to continue this life-saving work. Together, we can give Sawyer, Wesley, and countless others a chance at a long, happy and healthy life.

You guys made this event possible by helping set up, tear down, photography, assist participants, run honey sales, play music, direct traffic, and helping our boys cross the finish line! We are so grateful to every last one of you. We were able to get most of you together for a pic.
