This morning at 10:00 AM, the Teague Police Department hosted our first “Coffee with a Cop” at the Teague Seniors, located at 738 US Hwy 84 W.

We had a great time visiting with residents over coffee, donuts, and kolaches, and we truly enjoyed the opportunity to connect in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Sgt. Weinmann presented an important topic on recognizing and avoiding common scams, offering practical tips to help protect our seniors and community members. The discussion was lively, informative, and well‑received.

The event went exceptionally well, and it was clear that everyone appreciated the chance to come together, share concerns, and strengthen relationships.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation.

Your involvement helps us continue building strong, positive community partnerships here in Teague.

We look forward to hosting more events like this in the near future.

The Teague Police Department values honest, community‑based feedback. This survey has been in development for many months, using the tools available to us through our current software systems. Our goal has always been to gather meaningful input—both positive and negative—from the people we serve so we can better understand community needs and improve our service.

After reviewing the initial online responses, we identified participation from outside the Teague community. It is unfortunate that individuals not connected to our city chose to misuse the survey process and publish inaccurate statements about the department and its staff. Such conduct is inappropriate, irresponsible, and undermines the purpose of a community‑focused survey. Actions like these do not contribute to constructive dialogue and have no place in a process intended to strengthen trust and communication within our community.

Because this activity compromises the accuracy and reliability of the results, we have closed the online survey. We will now conduct a new survey distributed directly to verified Teague community stakeholders. This approach ensures that only members of our community contribute to the dataset that guides our decisions. It provides a more accurate and representative foundation for understanding local perspectives and planning for the future.

Our commitment is to the people of Teague, and we will always take steps to protect the integrity of your feedback.

The Teague Police Department is conducting a community feedback survey to better understand the needs and expectations of the people we serve. If you live in, work in, own a business in, or are a regular visitor to our great city, your input is important and valued.

To protect the accuracy of the results, we ask that individuals who are not part of the Teague community refrain from completing the survey. Outside responses can distort the data and reduce its usefulness.

PSA: Vehicle Burglary Prevention in Teague

We need to talk about vehicle burglaries in the Teague area. They’re preventable, they’re frustrating, and they’re happening more often than they should. So, here’s your friendly reminder from the Teague Police Department:

Most burglars aren’t criminal masterminds. They’re more like raccoons—if it’s shiny and easy to grab, they’re going for it.
Help us make their job harder:

• Lock your vehicle every time. Yes, even when you “just ran inside for a second.”

• Hide or remove valuables. If it looks expensive, interesting, or even mysterious, they’ll check it out.

• Don’t leave keys or key fobs inside. That’s basically handing out a “free test drive” voucher.

• Park in well‑lit areas when possible. Burglars dislike light almost as much as they dislike locked doors.

• Report suspicious activity so we can respond quickly.
A locked, empty vehicle isn’t fun for thieves—and that’s exactly the goal.

Help us keep Teague safe, one click of a door lock at a time.

Freestone County Commissioners Court has implemented a county wide burn ban effective immediately.

As a result, the City of Teague Ordinances prohibit burning automatically when the County Commissioners Court issues a burn ban. Any permits issued by the City of Teague are ineffective at this time.

Don’t Let Grinches Steal Your Christmas!

The holiday season is for joy—not for thieves! Opportunistic crime tends to rise this time of year, so Teague Police Department wants to remind everyone to stay vigilant and protect what matters most by following these simple ideas:

1. Lock your doors, windows, an4d vehicles – even if it’s just for a
minute. Use timers for lights and ask for extra patrols when away
for extending times.

2. Secure gifts and valuables out of sight – gifts, electronics, bags,
along with cash or credit/debit cards should never be left in
plain sight.

3. Report any suspicious activity immediately - if you see
something, say something!

A few simple steps can keep the Grinches away and make sure your holidays stay merry and bright. 🎅
