Did you know ...?
Medicare Part D covers the RSV vaccine! You may have to ask for a coverage exception if the vaccine is not on your plan's formulary yet.

RSV is a respiratory virus that causes cold-like symptoms. People who are 65 and older are at high risk of having serious health complications from RSV. Getting the RSV shot can protect you from getting RSV.

Prescription Drug Plan alert:
In 2024, some plan carriers are changing prescription mail order procedures/pharmacies or in-network retail pharmacies. Make sure to read any recent notices from your plan. You don’t want to find out after the fact that your prescription drug costs are higher than expected or not covered at all by your current plan.

Now that you have reviewed and changed (possibly) your 2024 plans during Medicare Open Enrollment, make sure that you have received your new plan information and materials before January 1. If you need Prior Authorization on any medications on your new plan, call your plan carrier or visit your carrier’s site online to find out their process on how to get everything set up in time for your first refill!

DID YOU KNOW ...?
Original Medicare has two components: Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance). Many people (but not everyone) are eligible for premium-free Part A; but there is a monthly premium charged to everyone for Part B. In 2024, the monthly base premium for Part B will be $174.70.

Tomorrow is the last day for FREE in-person Medicare consultations at Local 802 during the 2024 Medicare Open Enrollment period. If you have not yet made an appointment and would like to have a consultation, I am accepting walk-ins between 11 am - 3 pm in the 3rd Floor Conference Room. Please bring your Medicare card, RX ID card and any prescriptions you are currently taking for a Prescription Drug Plan review or the Medicare Advantage Member ID card to review/add/change your current plan. There are major changes to many of the plans for 2024 so don't miss out on the chance to choose the best plan for you for the upcoming year.
