🇺🇸 There are some lives that truly represent the best of Tecumseh… and Harry Stanifer was one of them.

✔️At 99 years old, Harry’s story spans generations—service to our country in the United States Marine Corps, decades of hard work at Tecumseh Products Company, local business ownership, and a lifetime of commitment to his church and community.

😆 Funeral service reality check
✅ Years ago, cold January night… about 2AM… I pull up to Herrick Hospital on a death call. 🥶Dark, quiet, one of those nights where you’re just focused on the job.
✅ A family member meets me outside and asks,
“Where’s Mr. Purse?” (meaning my dad)
I said,
“I am Mr. Purse.”
She looks at me dead serious and goes,
“YOU ARE NOT MR. PURSE!”
😆😆😆
✅ Nothing like getting rejected from your own last name at 2 in the morning. 😆

✅ 55 Years of Purse & Son ❤️

Today marks the 55th anniversary of Purse & Son Funeral Home.
A legacy built on care, trust, and serving families in their most difficult moments.

I’m proud to carry that forward — to show up every day, do things the right way, and honor the standard that was set long before me.

Thank you to everyone in our community who has trusted us over the years. It truly means more than words can say.

Here’s to 55 years… and continuing to serve with dignity, compassion, and respect.

✔️ Today I spent the afternoon hand de-thatching the lawn at Purse & Son Funeral Home — no shortcuts, no machines, just effort and attention to detail. Followed it up with a spring fertilizer application to give the turf exactly what it needs: more oxygen, more sunlight, and better absorption of rain.

✔️ The result? A stronger, healthier lawn — because the details matter.

✔️ At Purse & Son, we believe the same approach applies to everything we do. Care, effort, and doing things the right way… even when no one is watching.

📅 Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan where a Masonic Memorial Service will be performed by Tecumseh Masonic Lodge #69.
🇺🇸 Military honors will also take place, conducted by the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Team.
📅 Visitation will also take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan from 1:00 p.m. until time of memorial service.
🪦 Final resting place will be at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, Michigan.
❤️ The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Bridgeway Park Assisted Living, Tecumseh, Michigan and Optimal Care Hospice for their compassionate care.
